Exclusive: Genshin Impact's 38 Spiral Abyss Update Unveils New & Old Enemies

A new leak has recently surfaced for Genshin Impact, revealing the upcoming lineup of enemies for the game's Spiral Abyss rotation in Version 3.8. The Spiral Abyss has always been one of the most popular forms of endgame content in the game, as it challenges players to face powerful enemies with unique buffs. With each new update, the Abyss features a fresh set of enemies, including newly added ones and boss monsters on the higher floors. This time, the leak is teasing what's to come in the next update for the Abyss.

Despite the game's passionate fanbase calling for more endgame content over the past two years, Genshin Impact's endgame content has been criticized for being lacking. Players have longed for more opportunities to min-max their characters and build powerful teams, but HoYoverse has stated that they won't be focusing on endgame content anytime soon due to "player anxiety." Nonetheless, the Spiral Abyss remains the game's most significant piece of endgame content, and it's now set to feature a brand-new lineup of enemies.

According to a recent chart shared by the reliable Genshin Impact leaker, Bebe, Version 3.8 will introduce a range of new enemies in the Spiral Abyss. In the first half of Floor 11, players will encounter a mixture of old and new foes. The initial chambers will be inhabited by Ruin machines, Hilichurls, and conclude with Abyss Lectors. The second half of the floor will see players battle against various humanoid enemies, including Inazuma's Kairagi and Nobushi, as well as Eremite enemies in the third chamber. Furthermore, the primary buff for Floor 11 will provide players a significant advantage with a 75% increase in Physical damage.

The top floor of the Abyss presents a formidable challenge for players attempting to conquer Floor 12. It is home to a variety of Elite enemies and bosses that await skilled adventurers. The first half of Floor 12 is populated by Riftwolf enemies, while Eremite elites and Black Serpent Knights are found in later chambers alongside Fatui enemies such as the Pyroslinger and Mirror Maiden. The Spiral Abyss' top floor boasts two main bosses: the Matrix world boss from the Sumeru desert and the Bathysmal Vishap Herd from Enkanomiya, which serves as the final foe in Version 3.8's Spiral Abyss.

As in previous cycles of the Spiral Abyss, leaks suggest that the new lineup will favor players who plan to use the featured characters in Version 3.8. Floor 11's physical damage buff is in line with the heavily speculated Eula re-run that is believed to be coming during Version 3.8. Floor 12 may also be advantageous for players who utilize Bloom-focused team compositions, with Dendro reactions being particularly effective against the Matrix boss. Although HoYoverse may not have immediate plans for future endgame content, the Spiral Abyss remains a challenging and rewarding experience for Genshin Impact's most skilled players.
