Neuvillette, Fontaine's Chief Justice, is expected to play a very important role in Genshin Impact's new Archon Quest.
Wriothesley, the game's first Cryo Catalyst user, will be introduced alongside Neuvillette. As a five-star character, Neuvillette possesses distinct gameplay animations, including the ability to float in the air and unleash formidable Hydro beam attacks through a Charged Attack.
A recent Genshin Impact leak has unveiled the complete gameplay animations for one of the upcoming characters, Neuvillette, also known as Fontaine's Chief Justice. Neuvillette has already been featured multiple times in the game's promotional videos, indicating that he will play a crucial role in the new Archon Quest.
Despite the excitement surrounding this character, it has been confirmed by HoYoverse that Neuvillette will not be the only new addition to the roster in the upcoming update 4.1. Genshin Impact's official social media accounts have announced that Wriothesley, a popular character, will also join the game. Wriothesley is set to be the game's first Cryo Catalyst user.
A complete showcase of Neuvillette's gameplay animations has been posted on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit. Although developer HoYoverse did not specify Neuvillette's rarity, the fact that he has a close-up animation for his Elemental Burst strongly suggests that he will be introduced as a new five-star character in Genshin Impact. Similar to the recently released five-star Pyro user Lyney, Neuvillette will possess a unique Charged Attack. Interestingly, many fans in the comment section actually favor Neuvillette's Charged Attack over Lyney's, as it allows Neuvillette to gracefully float in mid-air while charging up a devastating Hydro beam attack that inflicts significant damage. However, it is important to note that executing this attack will gradually deplete Neuvillette's HP, albeit the deduction will be limited to 50% of his maximum HP.
Fortunately, since Neuvillette is a Hydro user, most of his abilities will become stronger as his HP increases. This means that his Health bar will likely be high, reducing the risk of him being defeated by a powerful boss attack in just one hit. Neuvillette's Elemental Skill allows him to create an explosion, causing Hydro damage to multiple enemies in front of him. If he successfully hits an opponent with this skill, it will generate 3 Sourcewater Droplets. These droplets can be consumed to reduce the time it takes for him to charge up his Charged Attack. After using his skill, a Spiritbreath Thorn will appear above the affected enemy and deal additional Hydro damage. Neuvillette's Elemental Burst can unleash a powerful wave that causes Hydro damage to multiple enemies and its strength seems to increase based on his maximum HP.
Neuvillette's Elemental Burst duration appears to be shorter compared to Childe's Riptide Blast, which remains on the field for a few seconds. It shares similarities with Nilou's "Distant Dreams, Listening Spring," another Hydro user's burst ability.
Genshin Impact is currently accessible on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A version for the Nintendo Switch is currently being developed.
