According to a leak from Genshin Impact, there are rumors circulating about the upcoming Fontaine region. These speculations suggest that players can expect three new areas to be introduced post-launch, which include a prison, research institute, and dungeon.Similar to the previous regions in the game, Fontaine's map expansion will follow the pattern of updates that enhance and expand upon the existing areas.
Alongside new locations, Fontaine will introduce over 100 Hydroculi for collection and a new elemental variant for the main protagonist, the Hydro Traveler. The region is set to debut in three weeks. A recent leak from Genshin Impact has hinted at three additional areas that will be added to the upcoming Fontaine region after its launch. With just a few weeks left until Fontaine's unveiling, HoYoverse has already sparked excitement among fans for this Hydro-themed region in Version 4.0. Recent trailers have showcased the new characters planned for Fontaine and offered glimpses of various locations within Hydro Archon Focalors' domain. Now, a leak provides players with a better understanding of the different locales they will be able to explore.
Genshin Impact has not yet provided players with a comprehensive view of Fontaine's various locations, but trailers and leaked information have revealed several interesting points of interest in the region. The initial teaser trailer showcased different parts of the main capital, Fontaine City, while official concept art and upcoming trailers have hinted at the presence of a fishing village and a prison, among other things. The region will also introduce diving and underwater mechanics upon its release. Furthermore, there are more areas in Fontaine that are being teased. Notable leaker Tao, through fellow leaker Xiaobai, recently shared a leak that gives players a glimpse of three upcoming locations in Fontaine. According to the leak, a "Prison" will allegedly be added in Version 4.1, followed by a "Research Institute" in Version 4.2. Additionally, Version 4.6 will bring a "Dungeon" to the region towards the end of its development cycle. However, the details of the locations planned for Fontaine's Version 4.0 debut have yet to be fully revealed by HoYoverse.
Fontaine's alleged plan to expand the map into three parts would align with the previous developments in the HoYoverse, especially the game's latest location. Following its introduction in Version 3.0, Sumeru would undergo three subsequent updates, each expanding and enhancing its expansive desert region. In a similar vein, Inazuma would witness the addition of numerous new islands to its Japan-inspired archipelago, including the vast and intricate underground area known as Enkanomiya. Rumors speculate that both Mondstadt and Liyue are also poised for future map expansions, albeit without official confirmation.
In addition to a wide array of new locations to explore, there have been several leaks revealing more details about Fontaine, the upcoming region. These leaks suggest that there will be over 100 Hydroculi available to collect when Fontaine launches. These Hydroculi will provide upgrades for the regional Statue of the Seven. Furthermore, Fontaine will introduce a new elemental variant for the main protagonist, known as the Hydro Traveler. Early leaks have already given us a glimpse of the Hydro Traveler's abilities. Excitingly, players won't have to wait much longer as the newest region of Genshin Impact, Fontaine, will be debuting in just three weeks.
