In Season 22 of Destiny 2, players can expect an enhanced chance of acquiring ritual weapons or armor, as well as increased caps on Masterwork materials. Bungie has recently shared their plans to adjust the game's economy, improve post-match rewards in ritual playlist activities, and introduce fresh weapons. These updates will be implemented in the upcoming, yet-to-be-named Destiny 2 Season 22.

They revealed important information about The Veil and The Witness, the game's main antagonist. The community was pleased with the addition of Fishing as an activity. However, players had complaints about the rewards from ritual activities, which Bungie acknowledged. They announced changes to the post-match rewards system and the in-game economy. In Season 22, players will have a higher chance of receiving ritual engrams with weapons or armor. They can also focus on ritual weapons within the same season. Additionally, Season 22 will introduce nine new weapons, including the returning fan-favorite Igneous Hammer Hand Cannon from Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris.

Regarding the economy changes in Destiny 2, the caps on Masterwork materials are being increased to provide players with more storage space. For example, players can now hold up to 30 Ascendant Shards and Ascendant Alloys, and the capacity of Enhancement Prisms has been raised from 50 to 100. A significant modification is that these materials will no longer be sent to the Postmaster but will remain in players' inventories instead. In order to prevent players from losing these valuable resources, they will no longer receive any additional materials once the cap has been reached. Moreover, Bungie has plans to introduce more substantial economy changes in the future to ensure that currency inflation is eliminated.

In Season 22 of Destiny 2, there will be improvements made to the exotics that have been overlooked, while the most powerful ones will be adjusted for balance. Additionally, Season 21 hinted at the return of Savathun, and this event may possibly take place in Season 22. Players can also anticipate the return of a past raid, with leaked information suggesting it could either be Crota's End or Wrath of the Machine.
