How Venom 3 Continues On From Venom 2 & Spider-Man: No Way Home
Sony's Spider-Man Universe bears the name of the hero, but fans have yet to witness the actual Marvel character. Although there was a brief appearance in the post-credit scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, the crossover didn't occur between Tom Holland's Spider-Man from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the SSU. Instead, it was Hardy's Venom who found himself transported into the MCU during the post-credits scene.
In the post-credit scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which picks up after Eddie Brock and Venom's victory against Carnage, we see Hardy's character back in his room being suddenly transported into the MCU. He witnesses Holland's Spider-Man on the television screen. However, in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Eddie Brock's return to Sony's Spider-Man Universe happens abruptly when a bartender enlightens him about the history of the MCU, without giving him the opportunity to meet Holland's Spider-Man.
It is uncertain if Spider-Man from Holland will make an appearance in the final installment of Venom's trilogy. However, this inclusion would undoubtedly benefit Venom 3's performance at the box office as it competes against DC's Joker: Folie à Deux. Even without Spider-Man's presence, Venom 3 will continue the storyline from Eddie's interdimensional travels in Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Spider-Man: No Way Home. Set photos and videos have revealed that a portion of Venom 3 will take place in Mexico, specifically during the Día de Muertos holiday, echoing the previous films. This continuation showcases the franchise's crossover with the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
