During these events, players can expect increased encounter rates and rewards. Additionally, special Field Research tasks offer even more opportunities for players to benefit. After the main Community Day event concludes, Pokemon GO usually introduces a special four-star raid battle, which boosts the chances of encountering shiny Pokemon once players achieve victory.

A new announcement by Niantic for Pokemon GO reveals that the featured Pokemon for September 2023 Community Day will be Grubbin. During this event, Grubbin will be more abundant in the wild, and there will be a higher chance of encountering a shiny version of it from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time on Saturday, September 23. Players who capture a Grubbin and evolve it into Vikavolt by evolving Charjabug will unlock the exclusive Volt Switch Fast Attack ability. Additionally, players can purchase the Grubbin-themed Community Day Special Research story, "Plugging Along," from Pokemon GO's in-game shop for $1. Alternatively, they can obtain the new Special Research by redeeming a gift ticket.

During the three-hour Community Day period, players can enjoy various limited-time bonuses. These bonuses include a 3x XP boost, double Candy drops, the ability to make an additional Special Trade, and a 50% reduction in Stardust costs for trading. Moreover, there will be special Charjabug four-star raid battles available from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM local time on September 23. Completing this raid battle will increase the encounter rates for Grubbin for 30 minutes.
