Highlights
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will have the chance to battle and catch Hisuian Typhlosion, the final evolution of Cyndaquil, in the next batch of Tera raid battles.
Hisuian Typhlosion, a Ghost and Fire type, possesses special attack and speed statistics that are comparable to the original Typhlosion. Its Fire-Tera typing enhances the difficulty of countering its attacks.
The encounter with Hisuian Typhlosion is scheduled for November 2 to November 5, and then again from November 9 to November 13. Trainers can maximize their chances of victory by incorporating Pokemon such as Politoed, Blissey, Umbreon, or Walking Wake into their teams.
Starting in early November, players of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will have the opportunity to battle Hisuian Typhlosion the Unrivaled in the upcoming batch of Tera raid battles. This follows the trend of previous Starter Pokemon final evolutions appearing as raid bosses for players to challenge and capture.
Hisuian Typhlosion, known as the Ghost Flame Pokemon, is the evolved form of Cyndaquil, originally introduced in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Unlike its Johtonian counterpart, which is solely a Fire-type, Hisuian Typhlosion possesses both Ghost and Fire types. It retains similar special attack and speed statistics as the original. When the original Typhlosion was a raid boss in April 2023, it featured the Ghost-type as a callback to Hisuian Typhlosion. In a role reversal, this time, Hisuian Typhlosion will possess the Fire-Tera type, making some of its attacks more challenging to handle. Trainers excited to face Hisuian Typhlosion won't have to wait long, as the battle commences shortly after another Ghost-type Pokemon departs from the spotlight.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Seven-Star Tera Raid Against Typhlosion
The battle against the Unrivaled Hisuian Typhlosion will begin just two days after the Mismagius Halloween Tera raids in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet come to an end. The event will start on Thursday, November 2, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern and will conclude on Sunday, November 5, at 7:59 p.m. Eastern. Players who are unable to face Hisuian Typhlosion during that weekend will have another opportunity the following week, from November 9 to November 12, during the same time frame.
Thursday, November 2, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern until Sunday, November 5, at 7:59 p.m. Eastern
Thursday, November 9, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern until Sunday, November 12, at 7:59 p.m. Eastern
In the Tera raids of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, defeating Hisuian Typhlosion will reward players with the Mightiest Mark. This Fire-type Pokemon excels as a special attacker and possesses the signature move Infernal Parade, which has a chance to Burn the target and deals double damage to those already affected by a status condition. Additionally, its Tera type enhances the power of Fire-type moves like Flamethrower, Eruption, and Fire Blast. Hisuian Typhlosion also offers move options such as Low Kick, Focus Blast, Sunny Day, and Solar Beam to cover various types. However, its Hidden Ability Frisk is pointless in Tera raid battles, so players of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet can disregard it without worry.
While the battle against Hisuian Typhlosion may prove to be one of the most challenging Tera raid battles in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet thus far, trainers who utilize Pokemon like Politoed, Blissey, Umbreon, or Walking Wake should have a good chance of defeating this Ghost Flame Pokemon. The outcome of the battle remains to be seen.
