Why DC Studios May Be Waiting Longer To Cast Batman
Although Andy Muschietti is set to direct Batman: The Brave and The Bold, there are various important factors to consider regarding the casting process, which is still far from being finalized. Despite the project being announced in January, there has been no mention of an initial release date, and as of now, there is no existing script in place. Due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike, no screenwriter will be signing on for Batman: The Brave and The Bold until the strike is resolved.
The potential SAG-AFTRA strike could further delay the casting process for Batman: The Brave and The Bold. Regardless of a strike or not, DC Studios may prioritize characters other than Batman, who already has significant exposure in live-action. It has been speculated that Bruce Wayne might make appearances in other DC Universe projects before his solo film, but Gunn's comments suggest otherwise.
