The Flash Director Hints at Directing DC's Dark Knight

The Flash director Andy Muschietti remains tight-lipped when asked about the possibility of directing DCU's Batman The rumors have been circulating, but Muschietti's response leaves fans wondering what the future holds for the caped crusader

Andy Muschietti, director of The Flash, has been rumored as a possible director for The Brave and the Bold, the upcoming Batman film in the DC Universe. When asked about his thoughts on James Gunn's take on the Dark Knight, Muschietti's response was coy and mysterious. The Brave and the Bold will focus on Bruce Wayne and his son Damian, the fifth Robin in the comics and the child Batman never knew he had with Talia al Ghul. It will introduce a new version of Batman in the DC Universe, separate from Matt Reeves' The Batman trilogy.

Muschietti has long been rumored to direct the DCU's Batman movie, but there has been no official announcement yet regarding who will helm The Brave and the Bold. During an interview with Narcity Canada's Josh K. Elliott at The Flash's Canadian premiere, Muschietti was asked about his plans for the character, specifically after working with Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton's portrayals of the Caped Crusader. Muschietti's eyes widened at the question and he hesitated before responding, "I don't think I can talk about that yet."

While Muschietti's response is not a confirmation that he will direct The Brave and the Bold, it is interesting to note that he indicated he may have more to say on the subject in the future. Many people believe Muschietti would be an excellent choice for the role due to his previous experience working with Affleck and Keaton's versions of Batman. However, having worked with two different iterations of the character may also give him a fresh perspective on how to approach the character in a new and exciting way.

Muschietti's involvement with Gunn's DC universe may hinge on the success of The Flash at the box office. Despite early tracking indicating a weak debut, positive reviews could potentially boost the film's reception. However, Muschietti has already demonstrated his abilities to Warner Bros. with his successful remakes of Stephen King's IT. It's possible that Gunn and Warner Bros. have faith in Muschietti's abilities regardless of The Flash's financial performance. Ultimately, fans will have to wait to see who will direct The Brave and the Bold, but Muschietti would undoubtedly be a strong choice.
