The most recent trailer for Mortal Kombat 1 focused on the Lin Kuei, giving fans a glimpse of additional playable characters. The Lin Kuei is comprised of formidable ninja assassins who play a significant role in the series. Notable names associated with this faction include Sub-Zero, Cyrax, Sektor, Smoke, and Frost, all of whom have been confirmed as fighters or Kameo Assist characters in Mortal Kombat 1's roster. With the presence of these beloved ninja characters, fans are eagerly anticipating the possibility of having all of them in the game simultaneously.

Ed Boon responded to a tweet in which the original user expressed their excitement about the Lin Kuei-focused trailer. They mentioned that the trailer gave them hope about the possibility of seeing all the ninjas from Mortal Kombat 1, as shown in the attached image featuring Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Smoke, and Rain. While these four ninjas are confirmed to be in the game, Reptile and Ermac, also included in the image, have not yet been confirmed for Mortal Kombat 1. Boon, however, replied to the tweet saying it could potentially happen.
