Doja Cat, the 27-year-old rapper (real name Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini), recently faced backlash from fans once again, but it seems she isn't too bothered by it. On October 6th, she shared a photo on Instagram of herself sitting in her car wearing a T-shirt with a controversial image of alt-right comedian Sam Hyde holding a rifle. Following the negative response from fans, she deleted the original post and later reuploaded a version with the shirt image cropped out. In the caption of the second upload, she added a long string of eye-rolling emojis.
Fans expressed their discontent, with one follower stating, "We saw the initial post," while another replied, "Please, gather yourself. This is neither appealing nor amusing." A third user on social media commented, "I know you have a great sense of humor, but this shirt is not a joke and is completely unacceptable."
Hyde played a significant role in the creation and portrayal of characters in the Adult Swim show Million Dollar Extreme Presents: World Peace, which faced cancellation after one season due to accusations of promoting racist and sexist beliefs. As reported by the Los Angeles Times, Hyde made a $5,000 donation to Daily Stormer, a neo-Nazi publication, in 2017.
Doja Cat, on the other hand, has faced numerous controversies in recent years. In 2020, she publicly acknowledged her involvement in alt-right chat rooms during her youth and later apologized for her 2015 song that downplayed the seriousness of police brutality against Black individuals.

"I deeply apologize to anyone who has been offended or hurt by my use of this term," she acknowledged during a 2020 Instagram Live session, as reported by Billboard. "When I used it, I was frequently involved in chat rooms and isolated. I constantly had people attacking me from all sides and hurling various derogatory terms at me. The term that I used in the song was one I had just learned that day. People were constantly calling me that term, and I decided to reclaim it and send a message to those people. However, I acknowledge that the song itself may not have been well-received, and it is possible that it is considered the worst song ever."
Earlier this year, Doja Cat received attention for insulting her fan base, stating that if any of them referred to themselves as "kittens" or "kittenz," it meant they needed to put down their phones, find employment, and assist their parents with household responsibilities. Although her remarks led to the deactivation of many fan accounts, her career continues to flourish. On September 22, Doja released her fourth studio album, Scarlet. The album features "Paint The Town Red," her second solo number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Scarlet debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
