Dispelling the Myths: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's First Date was Not a Psychotic Public 'Hard Launch'

Taylor Swift addresses the timeline of her relationship with Travis Kelce, debunking rumors surrounding their first date

Taylor Swift clarified the timeline of her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in an interview with Time Magazine. Swift, who was named the 2023 "Person of the Year," explained that her relationship with Kelce started earlier in the summer when he "very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell."

Referring to a July episode of Kelces podcast "New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce," where he co-hosts with his brother, he disclosed that he tried to give Swift his phone number using a friendship bracelet at one of her concerts. According to the "Anti-Hero" singer, they began "hanging out" quietly shortly after that.

"We were already a couple by the time I went to that first game," she disclosed in her Time interview this week, talking about the Chiefs game in September where she made her first in-person appearance. "I believe some people may have mistaken that game for our first date," she mused, before asserting that they "would never be crazy enough to make a public spectacle of a first date."

Since the September game, Swift has been to five of Kelce's football games and they even appeared on "Saturday Night Live" in October. Kelce also flew to Argentina last month to see his second "Eras Tour" concert. In a Wednesday interview, Swift openly acknowledged the public nature of their relationship, stating that they're not trying to conceal anything at this point.

"Im going to see him do what he loves, were showing up for each other, other people are there and we dont care," she said. "Were just proud of each other."
