At the recent Starfield Direct presentation, it was confirmed that the upcoming open world sci-fi RPG, Starfield, will feature five new companions and romance options. Similar to previous Bethesda games, players will be able to recruit companions to join them on their adventures, but Starfield is taking it a step further by allowing players to assemble an entire crew for their spaceship. Bethesda has already introduced a few of the companions, including Vasco the robot and the Adoring Fan from The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, but there will be many more to discover, each with their own distinct abilities.
The Starfield Direct presentation introduced a diverse group of companions, each with their own unique set of specializations and skills. Among them is Sarah Morgan, an expert in Astrodynamics, Lasers, Leadership, and Botany. Sam Coe, on the other hand, is a space cowboy who excels in Piloting Rifle Certification, Payloads, and Geology. Barrett's specialties include Starship Engineering, Particle Beam Weapon Systems, Robotics, and Gastronomy. Marika Boros is skilled in Shotgun Certification, Ballistics, and Particle Beam Weapon Systems. Lastly, Heller is a master in Geology and Outpost Engineering.
Starfield Companions List
During their adventures in Starfield, players will have the opportunity to encounter a diverse cast of companions, including Adoring Fan, Barrett Heller, Marika Boros, Sam Coe, Sarah Morgan, and Vasco. These companions can be found through various means, such as progressing through quests, hiring them as crew mates at spaceports, or discovering them on one of Starfield's many planets. It remains to be seen how many companions players can have or what restrictions may be in place for exploring with them, but additional information is expected to be revealed closer to the game's release date.
Some companions in Starfield will have unique questlines and the possibility of romance. During the Starfield Direct, a potential romance option was shown between Sam Coe and a female player character. It is possible that sexual orientation may play a role in determining which companions can be romanced, although this has not been confirmed. Additionally, Xbox gamers were given a glimpse of the game's combat, skill tree, and character creation. Overall, Starfield has the potential to be a top contender for Game of the Year and fans are eagerly anticipating its launch in September.
