A committed Diablo 4 player recently experienced a setback when they lost an entire day's worth of progress in the game due to dozing off while playing. Despite this, the early access release of Diablo 4 has been highly anticipated and has already given rise to some interesting moments. The latest addition to the franchise continues the saga of the ongoing conflict between the High Heavens and Burning Hells, and the chaos that threatens to engulf Sanctuary. Set 50 years after the events of the Diablo 3 expansion, Reaper of Souls, the game features the return of Lilith, who was banished by Inarius. As the forces of angels and demons weaken, the daughter of Mephisto seeks to seize power in Diablo 4.
A.M Valentine's grueling 24-hour hardcore run in Diablo 4 came to an unexpected end when they dozed off during the live stream. Despite being fully immersed in the game, the streamer realized they were falling asleep when their Druid was almost killed. Unfortunately, a few seconds later, A.M Valentine succumbed to exhaustion and fell asleep during the broadcast, resulting in the death of their character who was in the midst of combat. Diablo 4's hardcore mode is notorious for its unforgiving nature, as any character death results in the loss of all progress made thus far.
Despite the challenges presented by the hardcore mode in Diablo 4's early access, players are still giving it their all. Streamer A.M Valentine is a prime example, having already embarked on another hardcore run that has lasted over nine hours at the time of writing. While even popular Twitch streamer Michael "Shroud" Grzesiek and his groupmate Nick "Imexile" fell victim to the unforgiving game mode, players are still determined to conquer it. With the full release of Diablo 4 on the horizon, it's likely that more players will face the same fate.
Diablo 4 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
