Taylor Swift kept her new album, The Tortured Poets Department, a secret for two years before announcing it at the Grammys in February. Despite the secrecy, she may have been subtly hinting at it through her fashion choices for months.
According to the Instagram account @taylorswiftstyled, which is managed by Sarah Chapelle, some of the song titles on Swift's latest album were actually hiding in plain sight. Titles like "Cassandra," "thanK you aIMee," and "Robin" were cleverly incorporated into her outfits.
In October 2023, the 34-year-old singer was seen in Los Angeles with friend Keleigh Teller. They were both wearing a claw clip from Anthropologie. The clip was part of a set called the “Aimee Claw Hair Clip Set” and it was priced at $24.
Looking back, the claw clip’s name might be connected to the song “thanK you aIMee.” This song is track 24 on the extended version of the album, The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology. Some people think that the song is about the singer's well-known feud with Kim Kardashian in 2016. The song title’s capital letters spell out “Kim,” adding to this speculation.
In the next month, Taylor Swift was seen out in New York City with her friend and fellow singer Gracie Abrams. She was spotted carrying a green YSL shoulder bag named “Cassandra,” believed to be a reference to a song on her album. The bag costs $2,895. Swift styled it with a navy pea coat, a white dress, sheer tights, and chunky heels.

Taylor Swift was seen in New York City in January wearing a pair of black boots by The Row known as the "Robin Leather Chelsea Boots." These boots are believed to be a reference to track 30 on her album called "Robin." She paired the $1,290 boots with a cozy cashmere maxi dress by The Row and a long dark wool coat.
