Decoding Taylor Swift's Song 'So High School' After Travis Kelce's Romantic Revelations

Travis Kelce showed signs of his connection with Taylor Swift around eight years ago, and now she is referencing it in her music.

In 2016, when Kelce was 34, he participated in a game on Afterbuzz TV where he had to choose between kissing, marrying, or killing Swift, who was also 34 at the time, Ariana Grande, and Katy Perry, who had a public feud with Kelce's current girlfriend.

Kelce jokingly said during the game that he didn't want to harm any of the women mentioned. He playfully chose Ariana to eliminate, Taylor Swift to kiss, and Katy Perry to marry.

Swift released her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, on April 19th. This double album includes a song titled "So High School" which appears to make a direct reference to Kelce's "Kiss, Marry, Kill" decisions.

In the track, Swift sings, "Are you gonna marry, kiss, or kill me (Kill me), It’s just a game, but really (Really) / I’m bettin’ on all three for us two (All three)."

She says, "Isn't it sweet that you opened my car door for me? Then you pulled me to the backseat. No one has ever treated me like you do."

The next part of the story could be about Kelce and their first public date night. They made their first appearance as a couple during a dinner date in New York City in October 2023. Kelce and Swift were seen holding hands as they left the restaurant. Kelce even opened the car door for Swift before they drove off.

In another song from the album "So High School," Taylor Swift seems to reference Travis Kelce's successful football career. She sings, "You know how to ball / I know Aristotle. Brand new, full throttle / Teach me while your bros play Grand Theft Auto. It’s true, swear, scouts honor. You knew what you wanted and, boy, you got her."

The lyrics appeared to be a reference to the couple's interviews in 2023 about their bond. In a November interview with .WSJ Magazine, Kelce mentioned how incredible it was to be with someone as intelligent as Swift, who could even quote philosophers like Aristotle. A month later, Swift spoke to TIME Magazine and expressed her admiration for Kelce, admitting that she had been unaware of his talents in sports before.

Swift is known for not revealing her musical inspirations, but her relationship with Kelce continues to blossom.
