Jason Kelce made a brief appearance in Welcome to Wrexham while celebrating Rob McElhenney's birthday.
Ever since taking over as co-chairs of the Wrexham football club in 2020, Ryan Reynolds and McElhenney, who is 47 years old, have engaged in a fun prank war to celebrate each other's birthdays.
The latest episode of Welcome to Wrexham, which aired on Thursday, May 16, kicked off with Reynolds, 47, serenading with the “Happy Birthday, Rob McElhenney” song. During the performance, which focused on the pronunciation of McElhenney’s last name, some of the actor’s well-known pals made a cameo. Given McElhenney's allegiance to the Philadelphia Eagles, it was no surprise to see Kelce, 36, making a brief appearance. (Kelce recently expressed his love for Wales on Twitter.)
The former NFL player was depicted standing in what seemed to be the Eagles’ facility, belting out the line: “Like a tackle when we take ‘em to the ground.” Although the music video for McElhenney’s birthday had initially been released in April 2023, the Welcome to Wrexham episode provided further details on its creation.
Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, known for writing the music and lyrics to Dear Evan Hansen, were the masterminds behind the track.
A voiceover mentioned, "Last year, Ryan brought together a musical army in Hollywood." Pasek and Paul then added, "It's called 'It's McElhenney.' We wrote the entire song."

Reynolds joked, "Is Rob good enough for this?" while McElhenney was getting ready to unveil Reynolds' gift - a memorial park in Wrexham. Chris Pratt even showed up briefly to help with the announcement.
Wrexham is currently on a winning streak in soccer. However, their goalie Arthur Okonkwo recently got injured during a game. Initially, he was seen spitting blood and even grabbed his jaw, but he continued to play.
"I was in a lot of pain. Even though I couldn't speak, I was determined to stay on the field and support my team," Okonkwo, 22, shared during his confession.
Eventually, Okonkwo had to leave the game and later found out that he had a fracture in his jaw.
"We began the season with Paul Mullin getting injured, and it really affected us," shared Humphrey Ker, the executive director of Wrexham, in a candid moment. "Let's hope that Arthur's injury tonight doesn't have a similar impact."
