Dak Prescott Accuses Woman of Extorting $100 Million with False Sexual Assault Allegations

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott claims a woman is extorting him for $100 million by making false sexual assault allegations against him. The NFL star speaks out against the alleged extortion scheme.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has recently claimed that he is being targeted in a complex extortion scheme.

In response to a threatening letter he received earlier this year, the 30-year-old Prescott filed a lawsuit in Texas on March 11. The letter, which alleged sexual assault dating back to February 2017, prompted Prescott to take legal action, as reported by ESPN.

The accuser's attorneys mentioned that she is willing to drop criminal charges and keep the information private if she is compensated for the mental anguish she endured. She is asking for $100 million in damages.

According to the letter, the woman's life has been greatly affected by the alleged assault, causing her pain and trauma. This has led her to seek therapy and counseling, with a need for ongoing support. Prescott has until February 16 to reply.

Prescott filed an 11-page countersuit, claiming defamation and slander, defamation per se, civil extortion/duress, business disparagement, tortious interference with current and/or prospective business relations, civil conspiracy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

His attorney, Levi McCathern, hit back at the woman’s “completely fabricated” accusations in a statement.

McCathern stated that Mr. Prescott, a new father to a baby girl, has deep empathy for sexual assault survivors. He strongly believes that all perpetrators should face the full consequences of the law. It is important to clarify that Mr. Prescott has never engaged in any nonconsensual sexual behavior. False accusations can be very damaging, especially when they are malicious. The defendant and her legal team will not succeed in their attempt to extort money from Mr. Prescott.

According to McCathern, the situation has been reported to the appropriate authorities. Prescott will fully cooperate with their investigation.

Prescott is looking for $1 million in relief and intends to give the money to the Joyful Heart Foundation, a group that aims for a world without sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse, or a similar organization.

Prescott was chosen by the Cowboys in the 2016 NFL Draft and is now in the last year of his four-year, $160 million contract, which he signed in the 2021 offseason.

Sarah Jane Ramos, the girlfriend of the athlete, shared in November 2023 that they were expecting their first baby. She expressed her joy on Instagram, calling their baby girl a precious blessing and expressing excitement to raise her with @_4dak.

Shortly after, Prescott also took to his Instagram Story to share the news, excitedly proclaiming, "Girl dad incoming..."

Earlier this month, he shared with the media that their daughter was born in February. At a Children’s Cancer Fund Gala in Texas, Prescott expressed his joy, saying, “I feel different now. Waking up in the morning and seeing that baby makes me understand the responsibilities.” He added, “It’s special to want the best for someone else, even more than for yourself. Everyone is healthy and at home. We feel blessed.”
