The popular roguelike game, Cult of the Lamb, known for its themes of sects and violence, is now introducing elements of sex and even more violence in its upcoming update, Sins of the Flesh. Developer Massive Monster has revealed that the update will be available for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation for free on January 16.

The update introduces more than just love-making, with new progression systems, weapons, buildings, and cult-life mechanics. According to the press release, these features will allow cult followers to engage in gluttonous rituals, vanity building, and wrathful doctrines, while Lambert gains the power to invite loyal followers to join the Circle of Disciples, a revamped leveling system.
As for the cult-life mechanics, the studio has revealed that shiny poop, baneful brooms, and larger, improved buildings are included in Sins of the Flesh. To enhance automation, Massive Monster is adding a new tier to Janitor Stations and Storage Structures, allowing cultists to better care for their compound. Additionally, a Tailor building can now be constructed, enabling cultists to dress in one of 23 different outfits once unlocked.
Just beyond the confines of your congregation, a new weapon waits for your leader to claim. The Sins of the Flesh update introduces the powerful Blunderbuss, a gun that is capable of inflicting significant damage in close combat while also being able to take out enemies from a distance when charged. This update follows a promise by developer Massive Monster to add new content to the game if their account reached 300,000 followers by the end of the year, which was achieved in less than two hours after the announcement on November 28, 2023.
Since that time, the account has almost doubled in followers, now boasting well over 584,000 followers.
To commemorate this milestone and the ongoing success of the studio, Massive Monster has revealed that Cult of the Lamb will be discounted by 40% from January 16-23.
