If Players Take the DealIf Players Refuse the Deal
In Act 3 of Baldur's Gate 3, players discover Raphael's whereabouts - the Sharess' Caress, a brothel located in the South Span of the Rivington region. Raphael has a proposition for the party: if they defeat the Absolute, he will reward them with the Orphic Hammer, which has the power to free Orpheus. However, in exchange for this valuable item, the party must surrender the Crown of Karsus.
This offer is incredibly tempting, particularly for players who have a fondness for Lae'zel or have selected her as the protagonist. Nevertheless, there are alternate methods to obtain the Orphic Hammer in Baldur's Gate 3, and furthermore, there exists a way to deceive the devil and avoid fulfilling the agreed-upon terms.
If Players Take the Deal
Voss will rejoice at the success of the party and present Lae'zel with a Gith Silver Sword, an extraordinary weapon that serves as a formidable choice for her final battles.
Although the Emperor will swiftly comprehend the actions of the party and feel a sense of disappointment, it will not prompt any alterations in their future interactions.
At the Devil's Fee, a shop located west of the graveyard, the party can engage in a conversation with the diabolist to gain access to the House of Hope and dismantle the contract. Defeating Raphael is a requirement for progression, as it unlocks all possible endgame choices. If the party possesses the Orphic Hammer, they will have the choice to align with either the Emperor or Orpheus in the ultimate showdown.
If players try to dominate the Absolute, their contract with Raphael will come due.
If Raphael gets the Crown of Karsus, Gale will be unable to reforge it or give it to Mystra.
If Players Refuse the Deal
Raphael will stay in Sharess' Caress, providing the party with an opportunity to consider the deal at a later time.
Voss will express displeasure towards the party, but their assurance of intending to steal the Orphic Hammer will reassure him. He will patiently await in the sewers area and reward Lae'zel with the Silver Sword in exchange for the hammer.
The Emperor will be satisfied with the party's decision, without altering how future interactions unfold.
Instead of the party's contract, the party has the option to intrude into the House of Hope and pilfer the Orphic Hammer. The quest remains unchanged, except for the item the party is tasked with retrieving from the archive.
In the event that the party lacks the Orphic Hammer in the concluding part of the game, their sole option will be to select the Emperor.
If the party is not obligated by a contractual agreement with Raphael, they have the freedom to decide whether to exert dominance over or annihilate the Absolute, as well as determine Gale's course of action regarding the Crown of Karsus.
Ultimately, the primary concern is whether players desire to infiltrate the House of Hope. By doing so, they will face one of the most challenging optional boss battles in the game, but it will also provide them with numerous options for endgame decisions. If players do wish to enter the House of Hope, accepting the deal is advisable. This will result in Lae'zel obtaining the Silver Sword at an earlier stage, and the subsequent events will unfold in the same manner.
Baldur's Gate 3 is currently accessible on macOS and PC, with its release on PS5 scheduled for September 6.
