CoD: Warzone Patch Notes Introduce Fix for Significant Footstep Audio Problems

CoD: Warzone Patch Notes Enhance Audio Experience and Optimize Gameplay Explore improved stability, weapon performance, equipment, customization, and more in the latest update

The latest update for Call of Duty: Warzone has been released, with the patch notes from December 14 confirming the resolution of the battle royale's significant audio problems. The update also features adjustments to weapon balance and a modification to redeployment drones.

One of the most significant updates is the improved footstep audio, which was previously nearly inaudible but should now be more distinct with this latest update.

The developer has taken into account player feedback regarding audio issues in Warzone, specifically concerning footsteps. This first update is focused on addressing some of these concerns and improving the overall gaming experience before the holiday season.

In terms of weapon tuning, several of Warzone's popular guns have been slightly adjusted. The potent BAS-B battle rifle now has reduced damage, going from 39 to 35, and its minimum damage has been lowered from 27 to 25. Similarly, the DM56 marksman rifle's maximum damage has been decreased from 50 to 41, with the minimum damage dropping from 39 to 37.

Multiple overpowered akimbo pistols have been nerfed. The Renetti's maximum damage while akimbo has been reduced from 30 to 22, and the akimbo headshot multiplier is now 1.2, down from 1.4. The TYR akimbo pistols have also had a significant decrease in maximum damage, going from 120 down to 70.

There have been other significant adjustments to the battle royale, including changes to redeployment drones and breacher drones. In Resurgence modes, redeployment drones will now be disabled at the end of the third circle, and breacher drones now have improved impact detection to prevent unintended explosive damage to players.

AUDIO

All Modes

Adjusted the volume of first person and enemy footstep sounds for a more balanced audio experience. In response to player feedback, we have been listening carefully and have made some initial updates to improve the overall audio quality in Warzone for a better gaming experience leading up to the holidays.

In making these changes, we carefully consider a complex mix of variables. One of the main factors is ensuring a consistent experience across all our titles, particularly Warzone, Multiplayer, and Zombies. Changes to elements such as occlusion, falloff distance, first-person vs third-person balance, and specific Perk mechanics can have significant ripple effects due to the large number of interacting sounds in a Battle Royale match.

We are dedicated to ongoing improvements, striving to provide players with an immersive gaming experience while maintaining a competitive edge. We value your constructive feedback and will continue working to elevate Warzone on all fronts.

BUG FIXES

Resolved collision problems with different elements throughout Urzikstan, preventing Players from exploiting/peeking/shooting through them.

Resolved an issue that caused Players to become trapped inside locked buildings that should have been inaccessible.

Fixed additional issues with incorrect text appearing on Challenges.

Editor's P/S

As a Gen Z netizen, I'm thrilled about the latest patch notes for Call of Duty: Warzone. The developers have finally addressed the significant footstep audio problems that have plagued the game for so long. This is a huge relief, as it will significantly improve the overall gaming experience and make it more enjoyable for everyone. I can't wait to jump back into the action and experience the improved audio quality for myself.

Furthermore, I appreciate the adjustments made to weapon balance. The overpowered akimbo pistols have been nerfed, which will level the playing field and make the game more competitive. The changes to redeployment drones and breacher drones are also welcome additions, as they will prevent unintended explosive damage to players. Overall, I'm very impressed with the latest update and can't wait to see what else the developers have in store for Warzone in the future.
