Chrissy Teigen and John Legend welcomed a baby boy, Wren Alexander, via surrogate months after daughter Esti’s arrival.

Teigen, 37, expressed her long-standing desire for four children on Instagram on June 28. She mentioned being unsure about her ability to carry another baby after experiencing a pregnancy loss in 2020. In 2021, she and Legend, 44, contacted a surrogacy agency expressing their interest in having two tandem surrogates to bring them a healthy baby boy or girl. Around the same time, they were matched with their gestational carrier, Alexandra, while also learning that Teigen was pregnant with their rainbow baby, Esti.

"We were filled with joy as we approached the safe zone of my pregnancy, and our happiness only increased when we discovered that Alexandra was also expecting a little boy. It was our own little boy," she mentioned on Wednesday. "To celebrate, we enjoyed a delicious hot pot meal and watched Vanderpump Rules, our bellies growing together as our families blended into one over the past year."

On June 19, Alexandra gave birth to their baby son, whose middle name pays tribute to the surrogate. Teigen's upload on Wednesday also featured the first pictures of Wren, capturing the new parents lovingly holding him at the hospital. A second photo showcased the newborn's beautiful head of hair.

In April, we confirmed that Teigen and Legend had found a surrogate and were eager to expand their family by having another child promptly.

Legend, known for his hit song "All of Me," married Teigen in September 2013. Earlier this year, during a private concert, he revealed that their family had joyfully welcomed Esti on January 13.

Legend expressed his gratitude to the audience, remarking on the positive impact his time spent at the hospital had on him. He described feeling invigorated amidst the memory of his previous visit. The celebrated musician is also a proud father to his daughter Luna, aged 7, and his son Miles, aged 5, whom he shares with his partner, the model.

Teigen took to Instagram in August 2022 to share the joyous news of her pregnancy. In her post, she reflected upon the hardships she and Legend faced in conceiving, particularly following the tragic loss of their son Jack at 20 weeks due to a pregnancy complication in September 2020.

"The past couple of years have been a whirlwind of emotions, to say the least. However, our home and hearts have been replenished with joy once again. After administering a staggering one billion shots (recently, mainly in the leg as evident), we are excitedly expecting another addition to our family," wrote the former host of Lip Sync Battle.

She further expressed, "On every appointment, I have constantly told myself that if everything looks healthy, I'll make the announcement. However, upon hearing the reassuring sound of a heartbeat, I can't help but still feel nervous. I doubt I'll ever leave an appointment with more excitement than anxiety. Nonetheless, up until now, everything has been flawless and breathtaking. I'm filled with hope and an incredible sense of joy."

Content: Teigen, before becoming pregnant with Esti, indicated in December 2020 that she had no intentions of having another child.

"This is me and my body, captured in this photo just yesterday. Although I am no longer pregnant, each time I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror, it serves as a reminder of what could have been. I genuinely do not understand why I still have this protrusion, to be honest. It is quite vexing," Teigen wrote as the caption for a self-portrait taken three months following her miscarriage.

She further stated, "However, I take pride in the transformative effect this entire journey has had on both my physical and mental well-being. I immensely cherish the experience of being pregnant, and it saddens me that I will never have the opportunity once more."

In regard to Legend, he has openly acknowledged that his two eldest children require some time to adapt to the alterations within their family.

"When mommy was pregnant, I sensed a hint of jealousy from Luna and Miles," revealed the Voice coach in an interview with E! News. However, upon Esti's arrival, an immense outpouring of love and joy ensued from them. They have become incredibly caring and affectionate towards her, eagerly wanting to hold and shower her with kisses. It's truly an exhilarating experience."
