Harrison Butker, the kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs, made headlines when he expressed his belief that women should focus on being homemakers. Interestingly, he was raised by a mother who is a physicist.
Elizabeth Butker, Harrison's mother, has been working as a medical physicist at Emory University's department of radiation oncology since 1988, according to her LinkedIn profile. She specializes in brachytherapy and Gamma Knife medical physics care, as detailed in a 2020 article by Emory's Winship Cancer Institute.
Elizabeth completed her master's degree in medical physics at Georgia Institute of Technology in 1988. Before that, she graduated from Smith College with a bachelor's degree in chemistry in 1985. Her father, James Keller, worked at Emory in oncology for 28 years before retiring in 2011. (Page Six first reported this news.)
Harrison, who is 28 years old, caused controversy when he spoke at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, as their commencement speaker on Saturday, May 11. During his speech, he had a message for the female graduates, telling them that they have been subjected to deceitful lies.
"How many of you sitting here today, getting ready to walk across this stage, are already dreaming about the promotions and fancy job titles you'll have in the future?" he asked. "While some of you may go on to have successful careers, I'm willing to bet that many of you are most excited about starting a family and having children."
Harrison, who is happily married to Isabelle Butker, believes that his wife would agree that her life truly began when she embraced her role as a wife and mother. He emphasized that being a homemaker is one of the most significant titles one can have. Harrison and Isabelle, who got married in 2018, are proud parents to two children.

Harrison received criticism for his comments on the LGBTQIA+ community's Pride Month, equating it to "deadly sins" and suggesting that men play a key role in shaping society.
He also brought up Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce's girlfriend, Taylor Swift, referencing her song "Bejeweled" by saying, "As my teammate's girlfriend says, 'Familiarity breeds contempt.'"
Ever since Harrison's speech became popular online, a comment he made about meeting Swift, who is 34 years old, has come back into the spotlight with a new significance.
During his discussion about his interaction with Swift, Harrison mentioned that he had only positive things to say about the singer and expressed his wishes for her and Kelce, who is also 34 years old. In an interview with EWTN News In Depth in March, he said, "I hope they get married and start a family."
