Taylor Swift apparently did not make the trek to Minnesota for her third consecutive Kansas City Chiefs game.
Despite fans' anticipation to see the 33-year-old singer cheering for Travis Kelce's team as they faced the Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on October 8th, Taylor Swift's absence was confirmed by NFL announcers shortly after the game began. Commentator Jim Nantz informed viewers that Taylor Swift's absence was unexpected, leaving some disappointed fans in the stands. The singer's participation in the game had been uncertain throughout the week, but it was officially confirmed that she would not be attending.
Swift has attended the last two Sundays in the stands, showing her enthusiastic support for Kelce, 34, at Arrowhead Stadium as the Chiefs triumphed over the Chicago Bears on September 24. During the game, she was seen conversing with Kelce's mother, Donna Kelce, in his exclusive suite and rejoicing after his touchdown. Later that night, the couple joined Travis' teammates at a Kansas City restaurant that he had reserved for an after party.
A week later, Swift was joined by her group of celebrity friends, including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Sophie Turner, Hugh Jackman, Sabrina Carpenter, Antoni Porowski, Chiefs' quarterback Patrick Mahomes' wife Brittany Mahomes, and Swift's brother Austin Swift, as they cheered for Travis during the Chiefs' narrow victory against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Taylor was also seen embracing Donna during the game.
After the match against the Jets, Travis showed his appreciation by liking an Instagram video of Taylor's reaction to his teammate Isiah Pacheco's touchdown. He also left a comment on a post by Erin Andrews and her podcast cohost Charissa Thompson, playfully suggesting that Taylor should date him during an episode of their "Calm Down" podcast in August. "You two are amazing!!" he wrote on Instagram, accompanied by praise hands emojis. "I owe you a lot!"
While in New Jersey for the game, Travis was spotted outside Taylor's apartment in New York City the day before their victory over the Jets. Later that evening, Taylor enjoyed a girls' night out with Brittany, Lively, Turner, and a few other friends, dining at Emilio's Ballato in the city.
During a July episode of his "New Heights" podcast, Taylor disclosed that he had missed the opportunity to give Travis a friendship bracelet containing his phone number when they attended her Eras Tour at Arrowhead Stadium. Creating further dating speculation, Taylor accepted Travis' invitation to attend the Chiefs' game against the Bears two months later.
Discussing the Bears match-up on his podcast, Travis excitedly commented on the slow-motion chest bumps, high fives with Mom, and the overall excitement of Chiefs Kingdom upon Taylor's presence. The game will undoubtedly remain a lasting memory for him.
