Andy Cohen hints at upcoming changes on 'The Real Housewives of New York City' as he acknowledges the presence of 'growth areas' in season 14 that will be addressed in the next season

Andy Cohen believes that there is potential for growth and improvement on The Real Housewives of New York City.

“I believe there were areas that have potential for growth, and I am confident that these will be addressed in the upcoming season,” Cohen, 55, shared exclusively with We on January 9th, regarding the 14th season of the Bravo series.

In the July 2023 premiere of RHONY, a new cast was introduced, including Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Erin Lichy, Jenna Lyons, Jessel Taank, and Brynn Whitfield. Bringing back OG cast members for Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy in December 2023 is also considered a risky move by Cohen.

"I lost sleep over that, so the positive reception and graciousness from people were a huge relief, especially since the original RHONY women were so beloved. They held a special place in people's hearts," he told Us.

Cohen also expressed his excitement about the success of RHONY Legacy, which featured Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Dorinda Medley, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Sonja Morgan, and Kristen Taekman.

During a group interview with Vanity Fair in July 2023, Lyons, 55, emphasized the uniqueness of the new group by stating, "I understand those women are iconic and always will be. But it was a different time, a different group of people, and a different setting. So, my inclination is to not try to compare."

Lichy, 36, expressed that although she found the original show "hysterical" and has "the utmost respect for all those women," she believed it was necessary for a change.

"I feel like we reached a point where the progress couldn't move forward because it was becoming stagnant. It felt like we were just repeating the same thing over and over," she contended.

With RHONY getting a new beginning, Cohen is also making a fresh start. The TV personality discussed his 2024 New Year's resolutions and Walmart's "Save Your Resolutions" campaign, aimed at assisting consumers in achieving their goals for the upcoming year.

"The second week of January marks the time when many people give up on their resolutions. In fact, there is a day called National Quitter's Day in the second week of January," Cohen explained. "That's why I've teamed up with Walmart Plus. We want to help you stick to your resolutions, and by signing up for Walmart Plus, you'll get the ultimate savings membership. This membership saves you time and money with benefits like free grocery delivery, free shipping, and discounted fuel—everything you need to jumpstart and maintain your resolutions. And if you sign up for Walmart Plus before the end of January, you'll receive 50 dollars in Walmart cash. It's an offer you can't refuse."

As for Cohen’s own resolutions, he’s focused on “less phone time, more patience on family road trips, healthier sleep [and] limiting drinking.”
