Offering a fresh approach to the well-known substory content of the Yakuza series, Like a Dragon Gaiden introduces a new game progression system called the Akame Network. Unlike the previous Yakuza games where substories were triggered by interacting with city NPCs or meeting specific requirements, Like a Dragon Gaiden integrates these substories into the Akame Network. Acting as a hub for managing the player's progress, the Akame Network allows players to engage in Stroll n' Patrol city missions and complete special requests directly from Akame, a self-proclaimed "jack-of-all-trades" who has established an information network through her connections with the local homeless community.
The Akame Network missions can be easily spotted on both the city map and minimap thanks to a distinct white exclamation mark. These missions usually involve completing various tasks, such as delivering requested items to NPCs, retrieving lost belongings using the Spider gadget, snapping photos, or defeating enemy groups.
By successfully completing these missions, players are rewarded with monetary compensation and earn points that elevate their Akame Network level. Progressing to higher levels grants players access to fresh missions and allows them to utilize a unique currency to unlock bonuses and purchase exclusive items at Akame's Hideout.
Where to Start the Challenge to the Informant Mission
The Stroll n' Patrol Adventure set features the "Challenge to the Informant" mission series which allows players to put their knowledge of Sotenbori to the test through an exciting quiz. This mission draws inspiration from protagonist Joryu's rich history with the city. To embark on this mission, players can easily locate the starting point by heading southwest of the intersection of Bishamon Bridge and the Sotenbori Footpath, indicated by a building marked with a white exclamation point on the map.
Upon entering the building and ascending the staircase, the player will arrive at a compact office where a solitary individual named Quizzy Quester, donning a comical hat, is stationed. In order to initiate a mission, it is necessary for the player to engage in conversation with Quizzy Quester and express consent to partake in his quiz challenge.
How to Complete the Challenge to the Informant Mission
The series called "Challenge to the Informant" consists of six quizzes, with each quiz posing a single question related to the city of Sotenbori. These quizzes are unlocked progressively as the player advances in the Akame Network. By increasing their network level, the player gains access to new quizzes, indicated by a white exclamation point appearing at the Quizzy Quester's location.
With every new task, the Quizzy Quester will inquire the player regarding a particular aspect of the city of Sotenbori. The player will then have three options to select from. If the player correctly chooses the answer on their initial attempt, they will be awarded a reward of 10,000 yen.
