The two manage to defeat the small group of Shuuki who were chasing a human girl. However, when Himari approaches the girl, she is attacked and it is revealed that she is actually a Humanoid Shuuki. The Humanoid Shuuki then calls for more regular Shuuki, while the girl introduces herself as Coco.

In Chained Soldier episode 9, Himari conveys the Supreme Commander's desire to negotiate with the Humanoid Shuuki, but Coco rejects the offer. Meanwhile, Kyouka informs Yuuki that he must transform immediately. At the same time, Coco summons a powerful Shuuki named Kuma, leading Himari to use a rocket-launcher-like weapon to fight back.

Coco manages to avoid the blast and tries to strike Himari, who skillfully evades the attack. Shushu, on the other hand, takes care of all the regular Shuuki but faces a new type of Shuuki armed with a weapon. A Humanoid Shuuki then appears from the new regular Shuuki, seizes its weapon, and launches an attack on Shushu.

In the same episode, Aoba Wakura surprises Kyouka and Yuuki while snacking on a Mato Peach. Despite their attempts to avoid her, Aoba easily stops Yuuki in his tracks with a command. After meeting up with Shushu and Himari, Kyouka decides they should head back to base to rest and come up with a plan. Yuuki wakes up to Coco licking his face, with the unnamed Humanoid Shuuki making sure he doesn't move when he tries to get up.

In episode 9 of Chained Soldier, Yuuki finally realizes that his sister is a Humanoid Shuuki. Aoba enters the room and embraces Yuuki, marking their official reunion after being apart for so long. They step outside, where Aoba reveals that they are in a hidden village located beyond the usual territory of the Demon Defense Force.
