The first episode of Chained Soldier started by introducing Yuuki Wakura, a high school student living in an alternate version of Japan. In this reality, there is a parallel dimension known as Mato, which is linked to the real world through various gates.

Mato is home to dangerous creatures known as Shuuki, as well as supernatural items called Peaches that grant special abilities, but only to women, causing men to be at a disadvantage in this alternate society.

Yuuki is suddenly transported to Mato and finds himself being pursued by Shuuki until he is rescued by Kyouka Uzen, the commander of the Demon Defense Force 7th Squad. Kyouka's team members, Himari, Syusyu, and Nei, join in the search for other humans and come across a young boy who reveals that his older sister is also somewhere in Mato.

Kyouka and Yuuki come across a young girl in need of rescue. However, their efforts are hindered by Shuuki. In a desperate move, Kyouka uses her ability to turn Yuuki into her ally, granting him powers similar to Shuuki. With their combined strength, they defeat Shuuki and save the girl. The episode concludes with Kyouka and Yuuki forming an alliance, with Yuuki taking on the role of the official caretaker of the 7th Squad Dormitory.

What to expect (speculative)?

After the fast-paced first episode, Chained Soldier episode 2 should take a slower approach as we watch Yuuki adapt to his new role as the caretaker of the 7th Squad.
