Carrie Bradshaw has encountered Aidan Shaw's three sons, and she is already contemplating her future with her former fiancé.
In the episode of "And Just Like That" that aired on Thursday, August 10th, Carrie (portrayed by Sarah Jessica Parker) and Aidan (portrayed by John Corbett) discover that they can no longer reside in Che Diaz's (played by Sara Ramirez) apartment. Consequently, they must promptly find a new place to live. Aidan had previously made a promise never to set foot in Carrie's West Village apartment due to their turbulent history there.
"I've had a revelation! I'm ready to sell it and move on – for real this time," Carrie confided in her friend Seema Patel (played by Sarita Choudhury) in the recent episode. "But, I need to find somewhere truly extraordinary. You know, a place that's worth giving up my precious belongings for."
Seema, a high-end real estate agent, then expressed her frustration that she has the perfect property available, but it is too spacious for just Carrie. However, the bestselling author insists that she requires "more room" for Aidan, his three sons – Homer, Tate, and Wyatt – and, of course, "a substantial amount of my wardrobe." (Aidan and his ex-wife, Kathy, primarily co-parent their children in Virginia.)
Carrie's affection for a multi-story apartment in Gramercy Park grew stronger, with both Charlotte York and Miranda Hobbes readily expressing their approval. Aidan also developed an affinity for the apartment, but he understood Carrie's sentimental attachment to her cherished brownstone. He gently reassured her that she did not need to part with her old residence unless she was certain about selling it.
"You don't have to sacrifice your old place for me. I am content and I truly love it. This decision should be yours, alright?" he assured Carrie. "Gramercy Park is a considerably different neighborhood compared to what you are accustomed to. I am well aware of how connected you are to your previous neighborhood."

Carrie's desire for happiness and a fresh start with Aidan is momentarily disrupted when she meets with his ex, Kathy. Kathy had invited Carrie to lunch earlier, cautioning her about not hurting Aidan again because it not only affects him but also her children. However, Aidan remains unconcerned about Carrie hurting him and delivers an impassioned speech to emphasize his viewpoint.
"Will you hurt me? Absolutely. And I'll hurt you too, and we'll have conflicts, and we'll get annoyed with each other," he declared. "But we'll work through it because life is fleeting, isn't it? We deserve happiness, and that's what I believe."
Carrie agreed and stated, "I wish to be by your side," preceding their newly elevated level of dedication with a kiss.
Following the tour of the apartment, Carrie went back to her house to make her conclusive choice. Speaking to her friend Seema on the phone, with Michael Bublé's "Feeling Good" playing faintly in the background, she affirmed, "Seema, I've decided. I want the apartment."
"And without a second glance, I ascended the stairs of my former abode," she narrated, as the screen ominously faded to darkness.
