Captain Glenn admits to subconsciously favoring Gary over Daisy on Below Deck Sailing Yacht Find out the reasons behind his decision in this extended reunion special

Peacock's extended version of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 reunion's part 1 features Captain Glenn addressing the assumption of favoring Gary King over Daisy Kelliher. In an exclusive clip shared with We before the episode's release on Tuesday, July 18, Andy Cohen questions Daisy about her perception of Glenn's potential partiality towards the deck team in inter-departmental conflicts.

I believe Glenn shows a clear preference for the deck team. It's a common occurrence in yachting - Glenn is inherently more connected to the deck team. He has a better grasp of their work. Honestly, I don't feel like he fully comprehends my department, but that's acceptable. It's a phenomenon that transcends various industries.

Glenn, for his part, admits he may not be as aware of what the interior team is working on.

"I grasp the role and responsibilities of the stews. Daisy, without a doubt, possesses an extensive knowledge and experience in stewing that surpasses anything I could ever attain. As for Gary, I have a clearer understanding of his intentions," the captain affirms. "Gary is a valued member of the team whom I deeply admire. Although I strive to treat all crew members fairly, it is possible that I unintentionally exhibit favoritism towards him."

During the Bravo special, which premiered on Monday, July 17, Daisy directly responded to Glenn's critique of her work ethic during season 4.

"I have discovered that I am someone who requires either support or no input at all. I do not handle sleep deprivation well and negative feedback only exacerbates the situation," she disclosed. "Personally, I found it unproductive. I believe [Glenn could have] commenced with a positive approach. The feedback I received felt insignificant and directed towards me specifically. It seemed irrelevant."

Glenn, on the other hand, defended himself by stating that his intention was not to demoralize Daisy when providing her with feedback.

Daisy's not defensive, but that was my point when I said, 'I want you to work smarter, not harder.' Daisy does incredible work and puts in a lot of effort," he explained. "However, I believe there's a way to ensure that someone is always available for the guests. Maybe not every single moment, but at least every few minutes. Waiting for service for 15 minutes is unacceptable. That's the area I believe needs improvement."

In conclusion, Glenn stated, "This doesn't mean I wasn't satisfied overall. I enjoy working with Daisy and would be thrilled to collaborate with her again in the future."

Daisy suggested prior to the airing of season 4 on Bravo in April that she had encountered conflicts with her boss. In March, she revealed exclusively to Us that she struggled with Glenn, stating, "It's difficult to understand someone else's perspective, but I felt like there was a lot happening. This isn't the first time I've faced this, as I've experienced similar situations with other captains. They rely on me as their right-hand person and question why things aren't perfect. My response is usually, 'I don't know, you tell me.' This dynamic continued during season 4, which, looking back, was somewhat expected."

Part 2 of the season 4 Below Deck Sailing Yacht reunion will air on Bravo at 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday, July 18. Catch the extended, uncensored version of part 1 on Peacock tomorrow.
