Cameron Diaz is making a comeback in a new action comedy with Jamie Foxx, as shown in Netflix's first images of the movie. The stars, Diaz aged 51 and Foxx aged 56, appeared at Netflix's upfronts event on Wednesday, May 15 in New York City to share more about their upcoming film.

After working together on Any Given Sunday and Annie, Cameron and I became real-life friends. I've been asking her to join me again, Foxx shared with the audience. "We all know there's just something special about her."

Back in Action, directed by Seth Gordon, tells the story of Emily (Diaz) and Matt (Foxx), a couple who are pulled back into the world of espionage after their cover is exposed many years after leaving their CIA spy lives behind. The movie will be available on Netflix starting November 15th, marking Diaz's return to acting after announcing her retirement in 2018. The cast also includes Kyle Chandler, Andrew Scott, Jamie Demetriou, and Glenn Close.

Netflix announced that Diaz would be joining Foxx for the movie Back in Action in 2022, and production began later that year.

Unfortunately, trouble arose on set when Foxx's daughter Corinne shared in April 2023 that he had experienced a medical emergency. Nearly three months later, a source informed us exclusively that the actor was still in the process of recovering.

Jamie is on the mend and starting to feel more like his usual self. He's not completely back to normal yet and is being cautious, but he's definitely making progress towards recovery.
