In all three images, the best friends appear incredibly close: one shows them grinning at each other while toasting with champagne flutes, while the others capture them embracing with their arms around each other. Raisa, who has been friends with Gomez since 2007 and even lived together at one point, is famously known for donating her kidney to the Only Murders in the Building star in 2017. This selfless act became necessary due to Gomez's lupus, which required her to have an organ transplant.
In September 2017, Gomez expressed her gratitude towards her dear friend Francia Raisa for the incredible gift of donating her kidney to her. She wrote on Instagram that words couldn't adequately convey her appreciation. Gomez acknowledged Raisa once again, two months later, during her acceptance speech for the Billboard Music of the Year Award. She proclaimed that Raisa should be the one receiving the honor, as she had saved her life. However, five years later, Gomez referred to Taylor Swift as her "only friend in the industry" without mentioning her friendship with Raisa, which seemed to create tension between them.
Gomez expressed her feelings of exclusion from a popular group of celebrity girls, noting that Taylor Swift was her only true friend in the industry. This statement was revealed by Gomez in an interview with Rolling Stone in November 2022. In response, Raisa posted a cryptic message on Instagram, simply writing "Interesting."
