Aston Villa have officially announced the acquisition of winger Moussa Diaby from Bayer Leverkusen. The 24-year-old has transferred to Villa Park for an undisclosed sum and has already linked up with his new teammates during the club's tour of the USA.

Diaby, who scored 14 goals and registered 11 assists across all competitions last season, had previously been of interest to Arsenal and Newcastle.
We News understands Leverkusen had been quoting as much as £88m for Diaby as recently as last summer.

The France international has joined Aston Villa as their third signing of the summer. Villa's previous acquisitions include defender Pau Torres from Villarreal and midfielder Youri Tielemans, who joined as a free agent after leaving Leicester City earlier this summer.
