Bounty Paper Towels, a brand of Procter & Gamble, is gearing up for the NFL playoffs and the Super Bowl by creating social media content showcasing football duos enjoying a plate of wings and demonstrating how the household product can easily clean up any mess from popular game day food. This effort builds on last year's focus on wings and NFL duos, with the brand partnering with nearly three times as many athletes. To kick things off, the CPG brand has released a four-and-a-half minute video on YouTube titled "Wingman Stories Spill the Sauce," in partnership with Team Whistle, a sports and entertainment media company within the DAZN Group. The video features Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman enjoying wings and reminiscing about their football careers while using Bounty towels to clean up.
The initial video provides a sneak peek of the upcoming second episode of “Wingman Stories Spill the Sauce,” showcasing Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins from the Cincinnati Bengals. Exclusive social content featuring DeVonta Smith and AJ Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles, as well as Damar Hamlin and Dane Jackson from the Buffalo Bills, will also be released throughout January.
The campaign draws inspiration from the staggering 1.45 billion wings devoured by Americans during the previous year's Super Bowl, setting a new record, as stated in the press release. With wings being notorious for their messiness, Bounty aims to be the top choice for consumers looking to stock up on paper towels before Super Bowl LVIII on Feb. 11.
Bounty will be hosting an event in Las Vegas before the Super Bowl, featuring NFL duos like Edelman and Gronkowski. At the Mandalay Bay Convention Center on Radio Row from Feb. 4-10, the brand will be giving away over 4,000 wings and cleaning up the mess. Even those who can't attend can get $4 cash back on a purchase of $10 or more of Bounty Paper Towel products by submitting their receipt through Ibotta. This offer is valid until Feb. 12.
