Boruto's dark cape in the Two Blue Vortex episode draws similarities to Marvel's Doctor Strange, but that's not the only connection. According to spoilers for chapter 2, Boruto appears to possess a new power similar to the Sorcerer Supreme. This power involves the ability to predict future events.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Avengers: Infinity War, Benedict Cumberbatch's portrayal of Doctor Strange used the Time Stone to foresee that only one out of 14 million possible futures resulted in the Avengers defeating Thanos. Similarly, Boruto may have also glimpsed a bleak future where the planet meets its demise, motivating him to embark on a mission to alter this fate.

In Two Blue Vortex chapter 2, the protagonist displayed a calm, composed, and rather cold personality, possibly because he was influenced by Sasuke.
Despite being aware of the dangers of exposing himself as a traitor responsible for the disappearance of Hokage Naruto and his wife Hinata, he returned to Konoha for the first time in years. Confident in his abilities, he believed he could easily eliminate Code if push came to shove.
To assert his point, Boruto swiftly defeated multiple powerful Claw Grimes under Code's command, showcasing his strength. Additionally, he introduced a new jutsu called the Rasengan Uzuhiko. Boruto recognized the potential grave consequences of allowing the Claw Grimes to persist and explained that Code had tampered with the Ten-Tails to create them, ultimately altering the Ten-Tails' nature.

Readers speculate that Boruto, who obtained vast knowledge about the Ten-Tails while in exile, may now possess the ability to foresee the future, an ability he inherited from Momoshiki.
Twitter user @hypareyli2, for example, has added to this theory by sharing a video that hints at the possibility that the young Uzumaki might have activated the jougan within his scarred eye, granting him the extraordinary ability to peer into the future.

However, it is assumed that he lacks control over these visions, and since they can appear at inappropriate times and be overwhelming, he chooses to keep that eye closed.
Thoughts on the theory
It is too soon to determine if Boruto has truly gained the capability to foresee the future. Since he still carries Momoshiki within him, it is possible that he has acquired knowledge of the perils posed by the transformed Ten-Tails from the Otsutsuki.
Momoshiki has displayed his ability to predict the future before, as evidenced by his prophecy of Boruto's impending loss. Furthermore, there have been instances where Boruto himself has caught glimpses of the future, such as witnessing Mitsuki confront Kawaki with great intensity.

Momoshiki is likely sharing news about a bleak future solely out of self-interest. His primary goal is to ensure his continued existence, even if he is no longer able to reincarnate. If his host were to perish, he would also cease to exist on this planet.
Furthermore, the exact nature of Boruto's newfound ability to foresee events remains uncertain. Although he has gained a new dojutsu, whether it is the traditional byakugan or a different power known as the jougan remains a mystery. Additionally, it is worth noting that while the jougan has been mentioned in the anime, it is not widely accepted as canon amongst the readers of the manga. Therefore, even though Boruto's damaged eye was briefly shown in the early stages of the story, the significance behind this occurrence was left unexplained.
