Naruto Uzumaki, the beloved protagonist of the Naruto series, continues to captivate audiences in the sequel, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. Despite being a fan favorite, recent developments have left fans surprised as Naruto has been weakened and used as a plot device to showcase the strength of the next generation. However, there is hope for Naruto's return, and when it happens, he may come back stronger than ever before.
The Fate Of Naruto Uzumaki
In Boruto, Naruto Uzumaki faced a cruel fate as he continued to face increasingly powerful threats. Despite being at the peak of his powers, he and Sasuke were both severely beaten by Jigen. However, when an even stronger enemy, Isshiki, was rebirthed, Naruto unlocked the Baryon Mode and gained tremendous power, ultimately defeating Isshiki. Unfortunately, this came at the cost of his dearest friend, Kurama. Despite his previous triumphs, Naruto has now been nerfed to a point where he is a liability in combat against the Otsutsuki clan, which is disappointing given his status as the 7th Hokage and a beloved character among fans.
After facing defeat at the hands of Code during the invasion of Konoha, Naruto's confidence in his combat abilities was shattered. Despite possessing powerful Sage Mode, honed over years of experience, he was no match for the upper echelons of the Boruto world. This made him an unreliable character in combat, a fact that even his foster son Kawaki recognized. To protect Naruto, Kawaki made the decision to reawaken his Karma and even went as far as killing Boruto, who posed a threat to Naruto due to being possessed by Momoshiki. In the end, Kawaki resolved to do whatever it takes to save Naruto, even if it meant killing every single Otsutsuki being. To prevent Naruto from stopping him, he sealed both Naruto and his wife away in the separate dimension of Daikokuten, where time does not flow. With Boruto entering a timeskip shortly after, the series is currently on hiatus, set to return in the upcoming months.
Naruto's Eventual Return
Despite Kurama's loss leaving Naruto out of his depth, he will not remain irrelevant for long. He is currently sealed away in a separate pocket dimension, as acknowledged by Kawaki during his fight with Boruto. Although this may worry his fans, it does not mean he won't be relevant in the future. With Boruto entering a timeskip era, it's likely that four years will have passed by the time the story returns, bringing Naruto's return closer. It's possible that Sasuke, Naruto's closest friend, could find a way to rescue him, but the chances are low without his Rinnegan. Regardless of how he returns, Naruto will exhibit powers that make him relevant to the story once again.
The Next Transformation Of Naruto Uzumaki
There are various possibilities for Naruto to receive a power-up or new transformation in Boruto. Fans have been speculating about what this new power could be and one option is for Naruto to train in nature transformations that were not available to him before. While this would take his skills to the next level, there is a limit to how much he can improve this way.
However, there is another option for Naruto to become even stronger by training in the dimension of Daikokuten, where time does not flow. This would give him infinite time to train and become more powerful. Despite being seen passed out inside the dimension, it remains to be seen if this will always be the case. Additionally, if Naruto were to return, he could potentially become a Jinchuriki once again, as there is a version of the 10 Tails in the world that needs to be sealed away. Becoming its Jinchuriki would grant Naruto tremendous powers.
Additionally, there is hope that Naruto may have the chance to reunite with Kurama, despite the recent tragic loss. While some fans may view this as an unlikely scenario, it is important to note that Ada possesses the power of Omnipotence and, with mastery, can alter reality itself to bring Kurama back to life. Should this come to fruition, Naruto would be able to reunite with his beloved friend and regain his former strength, potentially unlocking new transformations along the way. However, fans will need to exercise patience until Naruto's return, as it remains uncertain what new abilities he will possess upon his arrival. Currently, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is on hiatus and expected to resume on August 20, 2023.
