The trailer for Blake Lively's new movie It Ends With Us has finally been released. It features a chilling version of a Taylor Swift song.
The film, based on the popular book by Colleen Hoover, gives us a glimpse of the story. It follows Lily (played by Lively) who falls in love with a doctor named Ryle (Justin Baldoni). Just when things get intense and risky, Lily's first love Atlas (Brandon Sklenar) makes a comeback and complicates her current relationship. The teaser includes a slow rendition of "My Tears Ricochet" from Swift's Folklore album.
The book, which was released in 2016, quickly became a sensation on social media and was the best-selling print book of 2022. It stayed on The New York Times bestseller list for over 90 weeks.
The director of the film, Baldoni, who is 40 years old, assured fans that the movie adaptation would stay true to the original book. In a TikTok video posted in March 2022, he mentioned that he pays attention to all the tags from fans regarding casting, scenes, and songs for "It Ends With Us."
Four months later, Baldoni shared that he and Hoover invited a group of fans to preview the script. They took the chance to collaborate with the fans and get their input on how to keep the movie faithful to the book.

A TikTok video shared by Baldoni showed his gratitude to the thousands of fans in the LA area who submitted their support for "It Ends With Us." Ten lucky fans were chosen to join the special script reading. The feedback and support received were amazing and brought them one step closer to making the movie. Excitement is high and there is more to come!
Hoover has praised the film adaptation of her book, expressing admiration for Lively's portrayal of Lily. She mentioned being "in awe" of the performance and how it added depth and complexity to the character beyond her initial vision. The author described Lively's acting as captivating, stunning, and emotional, exceeding her expectations.
It's no surprise that the teaser includes Swift, 34, who shares a close friendship with Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, much to the delight of their fans. In fact, the trio is so close that the singer even included the names of Reynolds and Lively's three daughters — James, 9, Inez, 7, and Betty, 4 — in the lyrics of her song "Betty" from the album Folklore.
Recently, Reynolds addressed rumors about Swift possibly revealing the name of their fourth child in her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department. The actor jokingly mentioned during an appearance on the Today show on Monday, May 13, that they always wait for Taylor to announce the child's name. He added, "And I'll say this, we're still waiting, so Taylor, let's maybe start [on that], you know. She's a prolific writer. I mean, what are we doing here? And lazy's not a word I'd attach to Taylor."
It Ends With Us lands in theaters on August 9.
