Black Clover Magazine Switch: Yuki Tabata's Perfect Timing Unveiled!

Black Clover manga faces backlash over magazine switch, leaving fans disappointed and questioning Yuki Tabata's timing

Black Clover fans have been facing difficulties ever since mangaka Yuki Tabata announced the manga's transition from Weekly Shonen Jump to Jump Giga magazine. As a result, fans are now forced to wait three to four months for the release of the next chapter, ultimately prolonging the conclusion of the series.

The plot of Black Clover revolves around Asta, an orphan boy hailing from Hage Village in the Clover Kingdom, who aspires to become the Wizard King. Despite his lack of magical abilities, Asta's unwavering determination fuels his pursuit of his dream as he harnesses his unique anti-magic power to earn recognition.

In a message to his fans when the manga's magazine switch was announced, Yuki Tabata revealed that he and Shueisha were discussing a resolution to address the busy schedule of the Mangaka. Due to the demanding nature of weekly serialization, Tabata was finding it increasingly challenging to keep up with the workload.

Hence, Tabata was given the opportunity by Shueisha to move the manga to the Jump Giga magazine. Although this was a relief to the mangaka, fans believe that the manga could have transitioned at a more ideal moment.

The fans expressed disappointment with the pacing of the last few chapters of Black Clover, particularly in regards to Asta's return to the Clover Kingdom and his battle against Paladin Damnatio Kira. Soon after, Asta shared his anti-magic powers with his fellow Black Bulls and reunited with Yuno in the capital. Following this, Asta and Yuno were preparing to team up against Lucifero.

Due to the rushed nature of the plot, fans believe that the manga should have ended its serialization in the Weekly Shonen Jump much earlier, specifically when Asta was on the verge of departing for the Clover Kingdom. This way, Asta's arrival at the Clover Kingdom could have generated a much greater level of excitement and anticipation.

The manga has brought together Asta and Yuno in a powerful alliance, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the upcoming chapter that will undoubtedly showcase their epic battle against Lucifero. As we eagerly anticipate the outcome, there is no denying the excitement surrounding this clash of forces.

That said, many fans were anticipating a later move by Yuki Tabata. The results of Black Clover's Sixth Popularity Poll were revealed in 2022, indicating that the seventh popularity poll for the series was approaching.

Regrettably, the manga changed its magazine prior to the announcement, potentially resulting in the series not having another popularity poll color page in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. This outcome disappointed fans since, despite the manga being serialized for eight years, there would only be six popularity polls.

In the meantime, there were fans who expressed a desire for mangaka Yuki Tabata to have taken a longer break following the conclusion of the Spade Kingdom Raid Arc. Despite taking a three-month hiatus before the start of the Final Wizard King Arc, it was evidently not sufficient. Nonetheless, fans extend their best wishes to the mangaka, hoping for his and his family's wellbeing.
