Kelly Rowland's husband, Tim Weatherspoon, had a star-studded 50th birthday party at the Fleur Room in Los Angeles on January 6. The celebration included a special performance by Destiny's Child members Beyoncé and Michelle Williams, who sang a personalized rendition of "Happy Birthday" for Weatherspoon. The couple's sons, Titan and Noah, joined in to help their father blow out the candles on his cake. Kelly and Tim married in 2014.
Guests took to social media to document the event, with Lance Gross posting pictures of Rowland and Weatherspoon on Instagram and Tanja de Ruig sharing a photo of herself with Beyoncé. On January 7, Williams expressed her love and admiration for the guest of honor, wishing her more love, joy, and abundance in her 50th year.
The all-black attire affair was attended by a variety of guests, including Beyoncé’s husband, Jay-Z, The Weeknd, Kris Jenner, Cory Gamble, Michael Early, Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, Steelo Brim, Rhuigi, Adrian Gonzalez Savin, and Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith. Weatherspoon’s birthday marked the third recent reunion of Destiny’s Child, with LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson reuniting with Beyoncé, Rowland, and Williams. The only missing member was Farrah Franklin, and the group had previously faced a falling out in 1999 due to management practices.
Despite the acrimonious split, Luckett expressed that "the love, the joy, the prayer [and] the healing" was palpable during the recent reunion. The members also displayed their affection for Beyoncé at the November 2023 premiere of her Renaissance World Tour documentary. Rowland, Williams, Roberson, and Luckett were all in attendance at the premiere, wearing coordinated outfits to complement the night's black-and-silver theme.

Destiny's Child was originally known as Girl's Tyme when they formed in 1990. In the late 1990s, they gained early success with hits such as "No, No, No," "Bills, Bills, Bills," and "Say My Name." The release of their third album, Survivor, in 2001 propelled them to even greater fame with hits like "Independent Women," "Survivor," and "Bootylicious."
Shortly after the group went on hiatus, Beyoncé began her solo career and released her debut album, Dangerously In Love, in 2003. She later reunited with Rowland and Willaims for the group’s final studio album, Destiny Fulfilled, in 2004. Since then, the trio has performed together a few times, including at Beyoncé’s 2013 Super Bowl halftime show and at Coachella in 2018.
