Beyoncé is reflecting on the impact of her revolutionary self-titled album, ten years after its release. The 42-year-old singer shared a commemorative video on Instagram on Wednesday, December 13, to celebrate the milestone anniversary of her fifth studio album, Beyoncé. The album, which was released in December 2013 without any prior promotion, featured captivating visuals to complement each track.

This visual album received critical acclaim, making Beyoncé the first woman in history to have her first five albums debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. It also became the fastest-selling album in iTunes history.

The Instagram montage on Wednesday showcased throwback clips of fans' reactions to the surprise album drop. In a voiceover, Beyoncé expressed her desire for the album to be released when it's ready and directly from her to her fans, without any prior announcement.

Despite the bold move of releasing the LP with no warning, Beyoncé confesses to feeling anxious leading up to the drop, stating, "I still get scared before every album release."

Beyoncé was present at a release party and screening for her self-titled album 'Beyoncé' at the School of Visual Arts Theater in New York City on December 21, 2013. Kevin Mazur/WireImage captured the event. She expressed, "I'm always seeking the deeper meaning in my art - thoughts about life, my dreams, or my fantasies. Just because you become a mother, it doesn't mean you lose who you are."

The video concludes with Beyoncé expressing, "Happy 10th anniversary." Celebrities shared their admiration for Beyoncé and her hits like "Drunk in Love," "Pretty Hurts," and "Partition" in the comments section of the post. Beyoncé's sister, Solange Knowles, recognized the album's unconventional release, stating "HISTORY!" Tracee Ellis Ross commented "Incredible!!!!" accompanied by numerous fire emojis, while American Horror Story actress Leslie Grossman wrote, "This album changed me on a molecular level."

Beyoncé's journey with her own identity is a central theme, especially following the birth of her daughter Blue Ivy in January 2012. Blue, who was nearly 2 years old when the album was released, made an appearance in the music video for "Blue" — a song dedicated to her — alongside her mother.
