Bella Ramsey Opens Up About Her Concerns for The Last Of Us Season 2

Bella Ramsey confidently assures fans that the highly anticipated Last of Us Season 2 will surpass expectations, expressing her belief in the team's ability to deliver an outstanding performance

Bella Ramsey, known for her role as Ellie in HBO's The Last of Us, recently addressed concerns about the potential for a sophomore slump in the TV series. In an interview with Ladbible, Ramsey acknowledged the "big fear" among both the show's crew and its fans that Season 2 may not live up to the standard set by Season 1.

However, Ramsey expressed confidence in the capabilities of the creators and the team in place, assuring that the right plan is in motion to ensure the success of The Last of Us Season 2. "I have a lot of faith in the creators. And I think they're spectacular. So I think I think we're going to do great, I think we will top it," Ramsey stated.

During the interview, Ramsey also touched on their relationship with Pedro Pascal, who portrays Joel. Joel and Ellie are the show's two main characters, and the dynamic between them is vital to the series. Fortunately, Ramsey and Pascal had great chemistry and worked well together, which was a huge relief for Ramsey. "I was really worried that we wouldn't get along or wouldn't click," Ramsey shared. "I was like, because we were going to spend this year together and then we were gonna have to do lots of press afterwards. And I was like, oh, no, I was so scared that we won't get on."

Ramsey went on to say: "It was such a huge relief. At first, we were both very shy around each other, but as we spent more time together, especially on set in the car, we really bonded."

The filming for The Last of Us Season 2 is set to begin in early 2024, with Ramsey and Pascal reprising their roles, along with the actor who will be portraying Abby. Although the role has been filled, the identity of the new cast member has not been revealed yet.

HBO has announced that Season 2 of the series is not expected to premiere until 2025 at the earliest. Meanwhile, the game series will see the launch of The Last of Us: Part II Remastered in January.

Editor's P/S

As a fan of The Last of Us, I share Bella Ramsey's concerns about the potential for a sophomore slump in Season 2. The first season was so well-received and set such a high standard that it will be difficult to top it. However, I am confident that the creators and the team in place will be able to deliver an outstanding performance. They have a lot of experience and they know what fans want. I am also relieved to hear that Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal had great chemistry and worked well together. Their relationship is vital to the series, and it's great to know that they were able to connect on a personal level. I am excited to see what Season 2 has in store for us, and I am confident that it will be just as good as, if not better than, Season 1.

In addition to my excitement about Season 2, I am also eagerly anticipating the launch of The Last of Us: Part II Remastered in January. I loved the original game, and I can't wait to experience it again with improved graphics and gameplay. I am also curious to see how the story is expanded upon in the remaster. I am confident that it will be a great addition to the series and will help to tide fans over until Season 2 premieres in 2025.
