Bella Ramsey expressed her interest in portraying a villain, with a specific desire to play the character of the Joker. In an interview with Ladbible, Ramsey stated her desire to take on a role as a "really interesting, intricate, complex baddy."
"I've not really portrayed a villain yet. So I have a longing to embody a baddy," Ramsey shared.
When asked if he would be interested in playing the Joker, the iconic DC villain, Ramsey responded, "I was actually considering that too. The Joker, someone really intriguing like that."
In the past, actors who have portrayed the Joker include Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, Jared Leto, and Joaquin Phoenix. Phoenix even received an Oscar for his portrayal in Joker.
Ramsey is most famous for her roles as Ellie in The Last of Us and Lyana Mormont in Game of Thrones, both of which are HBO shows. In a recent interview, Ramsey also spoke about her challenging role as a drug addict in prison in the BBC series Time.
"Of all the challenges, the subject matter was definitely the most difficult. There were some really intense and demanding days on set," Ramsey explained.
Ramsey is gearing up to reprise her role as Ellie in The Last of Us Season 2, with filming scheduled to start in January 2024. The show is expected to debut no earlier than 2025.
Regarding the Last of Us game series, Neil Druckmann of Naughty Dog recently stated that he will not be addressing the Last of Us multiplayer game or the possibility of a Last of Us 3. However, he mentioned that Naughty Dog is currently working on "other projects," including the remaster of The Last of Us: Part II for PS5.

Bella Ramsey's desire to portray a villain, particularly the iconic Joker, is an exciting prospect. Her talent and range as an actress, as demonstrated in her roles in The Last of Us and Game of Thrones, suggest that she would bring a unique and captivating interpretation to the character. The Joker is a complex and multifaceted villain, and Ramsey's portrayal could add a new dimension to the character's legacy.
Her interest in playing a villain is also a testament to her versatility as an actress. Ramsey has often been praised for her ability to portray strong and determined characters, but a villainous role would allow her to explore a different side of her acting range. It would be fascinating to see her bring her own unique perspective and energy to a character like the Joker, and I believe she has the potential to create a truly memorable performance.
