Casting details for Beetlejuice 2: Who will be in the film?
While so far only a select number of cast members have been confirmed, the names that are already attached offer up hope that the sequel will be able to live up to the original.
First and foremost, both Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder will be reprising their roles as Beetlejuice and Lydia respectively. As well as this, Wednesday and Scream star Jenna Ortega has been cast in the film and will play Lydia’s daughter. According to CriticalOverlord on Twitter (X), Ortega’s character is named Astrid. She attends boarding school and hates her mother’s supernatural show.
Other cast members include Willem Dafoe, who will be portraying an afterlife police officer. In an interview with Variety, Dafoe provided insight into his character, explaining, "I play a police officer in the afterlife, so I'm a dead person. And in life, I was a B-movie action star, but I had an accident that sent me to the other side. But because of my skills, I became a detective character in the afterlife. So that's my job. But it's colored by the fact of who I was when I was alive: a B movie action star."
Justin Theroux has recently been added to the cast in the role of the suspected character Rory. Reports online suggest that this character will play the role of the villain and also serve as Lydia’s manager and fiancé. Rumor has it that he plans to propose on Halloween.

As a Gen Z netizen, I am excited about the upcoming release of Beetlejuice 2. I grew up watching the original movie and it is one of my favorites. I love the dark humor and the quirky characters. I am eager to see what Tim Burton and the cast have in store for us with this sequel.
I am also intrigued by the new characters that have been added to the cast. Jenna Ortega is a great actress and I think she will bring a lot to the role of Lydia's daughter. Willem Dafoe is also a great actor and I am excited to see him play an afterlife police officer. I think he will bring a lot of humor to the role.
