After winning big at the 2024 Golden Globes, fans of Beef are eagerly asking, "Will there be a Season 2?" Here's everything you need to know about the future of the hit Netflix series. Released in partnership with A24 Studios, Beef follows the story of Ali Wong's Amy Lau and Steven Yeun's Danny Cho as they become embroiled in a road rage feud, leading to the unraveling of their lives and relationships.
Starring alongside Wong and Yeun as the lead characters are Joseph Lee, Young Mazino, David Choe, Patti Yasutake, Maria Bello, and Ashley Park in the 10-episode series. The Netflix show was a big winner at this year's Golden Globe Awards, taking home the accolade for Best Television Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Motion Picture Made for TV. Additionally, lead stars Wong and Yeun both won awards for Best Actress and Actor in a Limited Series. This has left many wondering: will there be a second season?
Will there be a Beef Season 2?
Beef Season 2 has not been announced by Netflix, but creator Lee Sung Jin certainly has some big ideas if the show were to return.
Speaking with Deadline at the Golden Globes, Jin stated: “We presented the season to potential buyers as an anthology series. New characters were always planned. Whether it remains limited or shifts to an anthology or continues as is, that’s up to Netflix. But whatever they choose, I’m prepared.”
Earlier, Jin told The Hollywood Reporter: “I want to create more. We originally pitched the show as an anthology series where each season features new conflicts with new characters.
I have a deep affection for Danny, Amy, George, Paul [Young Mazino], and the world we have built together. I am open to exploring various paths for the future. Most importantly, I am eager to continue working with the talented team I have grown fond of. However, it is difficult for me to predict the direction we will take without a writers room and some momentum, so I hope the AMPTP will make the right decision. Although the finale tied up loose ends, I wanted to ensure it had a conclusive feel just in case. I have many ideas to continue this story.
"If we are fortunate enough to have a Season 2, there are numerous possibilities for the continued journey of Danny and Amy. I have a significant idea in mind that I can't reveal yet, but I already have plans for three seasons mapped out in my head."
He also revealed to Elle, "When we pitched this show, it was intended to be a limited anthology, so the story of Danny and Amy has a definite endpoint. However, given the opportunity, I would certainly love to further explore their characters because I have a great fondness for them. Nevertheless, the narrative was intentionally designed to have a finite conclusion."

While Netflix's renewal schedule can be unpredictable, it typically waits at least a month to evaluate the first 28 days.
Ultimately, the success of "Beef" will be determined by its statistics – how long it remains in the top 10 chart, and whether the viewing figures and revenue justify its production costs. Netflix will provide the answers to these questions, and we will update this post accordingly.
Critics have highly praised "Beef," with Entertainment.ie calling it "the best original show on Netflix in years," and Inverse stating that it possesses the biting social satire of today's most compelling content, along with more depth and wit than most "eat the rich" thrillers.
The show has faced controversy due to allegations against cast member David Choe, which may impact a potential renewal. Beef Season 1 is now streaming on Netflix. Learn more about the show and its cast here, and explore our other Netflix hubs below.

Editor's P/S
As a passionate fan of the show "Beef," I eagerly anticipate the possibility of a second season. The first season left me captivated with its unique blend of humor and drama, and I am excited to see where the story goes next. The chemistry between Ali Wong and Steven Yeun was electric, and I can't wait to see more of their characters' journey.
The show's creator, Lee Sung Jin, has hinted at the potential for an anthology format, which could introduce new characters and conflicts while still maintaining the essence of the original story. This approach would allow the show to explore different aspects of the human experience and keep things fresh for viewers. I trust Jin's vision and believe he can deliver another compelling season that resonates with audiences.
