The Egghead arc in the One Piece manga is reaching its final stage, kicking off the much-anticipated Final Saga. With its unpredictable plot twists, it's difficult to foresee the story's next direction. However, recent chapters have indicated that the manga will focus on an impending major battle set to take place on Egghead.
Accompanied by Kizaru and several Vice Admirals, St. Jaygarcia Saturn makes his way to the island. Their primary objective is to eliminate Vegapunk, who made the mistake of uncovering secrets from the Void Century. St. Jaygarcia Saturn also emphasizes the importance of safeguarding York, the Punk Records, and the Mother Flame production facility. The Navy was unaware of the situation inside the Frontier Dome until Lucci provided an update. Subsequently, the Gorosei commands Kizaru to infiltrate the location using his abilities. However, Kizaru must first confront an old acquaintance before pursuing Vegapunk.
The Past
Normally, Kizaru follows orders and maintains a relaxed approach. However, it came as a surprise when Kizaru informed St. Jaygarcia Saturn that he couldn't simply fly over Sentomaru. Sentomaru, who had crossed paths with Kizaru and Vegapunk in his childhood, was banished from his village due to his extraordinary strength. As Sentomaru caught Vegapunk's attention, he was asked to be his bodyguard. Seeking to become stronger, Sentomaru requested training from Kizaru.
Accepting Sentomaru as his student, Kizaru imparted all his knowledge. Consequently, Sentomaru's exceptional control over Haki comes as no surprise, given his training under Kizaru. Despite their close relationship, Sentomaru couldn't allow the Admiral to harm Vegapunk. Consequently, he adamantly refused to abandon his weapon and join the Navy, directing the Pacifista to eliminate all intruders. This complicated matters for the Navy, already struggling with the Sea Beast Weapons. Handling so many Pacifista would prove challenging, and if the situation persisted, Vegapunk would escape the island with the Straw Hat Pirates. Therefore, Kizaru had to incapacitate Sentomaru at any cost.
The Fighters
Sentomaru is a formidable character proficient in two types of Haki. He made his debut in the Sabaody Archipelago arc, showcasing his immense strength. His Busoshoku Haki is particularly impressive, enabling him to strike opponents without physical contact. Additionally, Sentomaru utilizes this Haki to effectively defend himself against incoming attacks, as evident in his confrontation with Rob Lucci. Although his Kenbunshoku Haki is not as superior as his Busoshoku Haki, it still surpasses that of an average Marine.
Kizaru, one of the Navy Admirals dedicated to the World Government, distinguishes himself through his relaxed demeanor, unlike many other characters in the series. Upon arrival at Sabaody, he did not immediately initiate a pursuit of pirates. It took him some time to discern his directive. However, in a sudden turn of events, Kizaru's entire disposition changed, and he mercilessly assaulted the pirates. He effortlessly defeated multiple Supernovas, dispatching them swiftly. It goes without saying that he would have apprehended them all if he hadn't needed to prioritize the pursuit of the Straw Hat Pirates.
Master vs. Student
Kizaru possesses advanced skills in Busoshoku and Kenbunshoku Haki. He is able to utilize his Advanced Busoshoku Haki to dispel Whitebeard's powerful quake during the Marineford battle. Furthermore, he even taught Sentomaru how to master this technique, showcasing his proficiency. While not officially confirmed, there are numerous indications that suggest Kizaru may also possess Future Sight, further highlighting his exceptional abilities as an Admiral.
In addition to his mastery of Haki, Kizaru wields the power of the Pika Pika no Mi, a Logia-type Devil Fruit that grants him the ability to create and manipulate light. This Devil Fruit possesses tremendous destructive power, which led Vegapunk to extensively study its properties. Kizaru has demonstrated this power on numerous occasions, proving its effectiveness against even the most formidable opponents. Furthermore, Kizaru is capable of forming a sword made of light, which he skillfully employs in combat.
Before engaging in battle with Sentomaru, Kizaru advised him to step aside. However, Sentomaru refused to yield and allow Kizaru to have his way. Sentomaru demonstrated his skill in defense by successfully blocking the Admiral's initial attack. Undeterred, Kizaru swiftly followed up with the powerful Yasakani Sacred Jewel, compelling his opponent to maneuver out of harm's way. In an attempt to deliver a final blow, Sentomaru swiftly made his way towards his axe.
Kizaru skillfully evaded the attack using his Future Sight and swiftly retaliated. This decisive move resulted in Sentomaru's defeat, allowing Kizaru to take control of the Pacifista and command them to confront the formidable Sea Beast Weapons. Sentomaru's condition remains uncertain, but it will take some time for him to recover.
