Attempting to carry every single item in Baldur's Gate 3 is a surefire way to become encumbered and ultimately miss out on valuable items. While gamers can distribute heavy items to other party members, this will only burden them and restrict their ability to carry additional items.
Baldur's Gate 3 does feature storage options, such as the Traveller's Chest. However, it is important to note that despite its label stating "Exclusive use: Public," this equipment cannot be shared with the entire community. This misconception can be clarified by learning how to properly utilize the Traveller's Chest here.
Using The Traveler's Chest
Players have the option to select an item from their player inventory and send it to the Traveller's Chest by choosing the 'Send to Camp' option. This will help keep their load light until they are ready to deal with it. Unlike certain games, players cannot access their storage while they are away, so they need to make sure to come back to camp to retrieve anything that needs to be used or sold before leaving. The Traveller's Chest can be found in the southwest area of the map.
When playing with friends, this chest can be looted by everyone, as indicated by the 'Public' label. However, it doesn't imply that any player has unrestricted access to the chest. While most gamers have faith in their companions, caution should be exercised when grouping up with unfamiliar individuals to avoid storing precious items in the chest.
Some items, like rations and camp supplies, are only useful during camp. You can send these back to camp and store them in the Traveller's Chest for the rest of the game. They won't be needed at any other time unless you want to sell them for some quick cash (although it's not recommended).
Baldur's Gate 3 is currently in Early Access on PC and will be released on August 3rd, 2023. The PlayStation 5 version will be available on September 6th, 2023. A version for Xbox Series X/S is still being developed.
