The Kuo-Toa, a secretive race in Baldur's Gate 3, are notoriously elusive. Those fortunate enough to stumble upon their hidden entrance will soon discover why they remain concealed from the outside world. Their unwavering devotion to the deity BOOOAL leads them to perform live sacrifices and incessantly worship this incarnate god.
Seasoned gamers familiar with the vast landscapes of Baldur's Gate 3 can instinctively sense that there is something gravely amiss in this scenario. While mind-control is a recurring theme in the game, the situation with the Kuo-Toa presents a distinctive challenge. Players must exercise utmost precision in resolving this predicament in order to save the endangered Kuo-Toa population from imminent extinction.
This article uncovers the repercussions within the game and unveils undisclosed details that the player's character may be unaware of. Dedicated role-playing gamers may prefer to cease reading and discover these aspects independently.
How To Save The Kuo-Toa
Succeed the passive Nature check when first meeting the Kuo-Toa.
Choose "You can give it a rest. Your 'god' isn't real."
Succeed on the Persuasion, Strength, or Intelligence check.
"I will simply eliminate you and appropriate it as my own."
Upon entering the treacherous realm of the Underdark and stumbling upon this encounter, players must exercise utmost caution. They are required to successfully pass a Nature check at the beginning of the cutscene as they approach the group. Failure to do so will leave players clueless about how to navigate this perilous situation.
In this scenario, the Kuo-Toa will be worshipping someone. Even if the character convinces the Kuo-Toa worshippers that their god is false, they will still attack if the character does not accept the role of "power." Following the battle with BOOOAL, the worshippers will need time to regain their sanity. The character will still leave as a god, ensuring that the Kuo-Toa survive.
Baldur's Gate 3 is currently available for PC, with the PlayStation 5 version releasing on September 6th, 2023. Development for the Xbox Series X/S version is currently underway.
