What Happens If You Choose The Nightsong? What Happens If You Choose Lorroakan?
Speaking with Rolan in the Druid Camp during Act 1 of Baldur's Gate 3 reveals that a wizard named Lorroakan is in search of The Nightsong. As Act 2 progresses, players discover the true nature of The Nightsong. Eventually, in Act 3, players encounter Lorroakan and learn his intentions regarding The Nightsong.
The Nightsong, also known as Dame Aylin, is an immortal entity whose power was drained by Ketheric Thorm, but released by the player. Lorroakan's scheme involves capturing Aylin once more, draining her powers, and attaining immortality for himself. Depending on the player's chosen allies, two distinct endings for the Nightsong questline in Baldur's Gate 3 will be unveiled.
What Happens If You Choose The Nightsong?
The Nightsong's imprisonment in the Shadowfell for over a century, serving as the source of power for Ketheric Thorm's invincibility and as a final trial for Shar's Dark Justiciars, has fueled her desire for revenge against those who would try to control her again. Naturally, when Lorroakan plans to repeat this imprisonment, she is not pleased.
If players choose to support the Nightsong in the confrontation with Lorroakan, they will engage in a boss battle against this legendary mage, accompanied by his summoned elemental allies. Once Lorroakan is defeated, a cutscene will reveal the Nightsong taking her revenge on a severely wounded Lorroakan. Depending on the player's choices, Rolan, vowing to stand by their side in the upcoming battle, will take control of the tower. Additionally, players will gain access to the tower's Vaults, which contain highly potent items, including a Magic Lamp.
What Happens If You Choose Lorroakan?
If players choose to eliminate Nightsong and support Lorroakan, following his plan to achieve what Ketheric Thorm failed to do, several outcomes occur. Firstly, Rolan's quest does not reach a satisfying conclusion. Additionally, Nightsong will no longer appear at Camp. Unlike when Rolan takes control of the tower, players who side with Lorroakan against Nightsong do not gain access to the tower's vaults.
However, Lorroakan and his elementals vow to assist the player during the final conflict of the "Gather Your Allies" questline. Although this path offers fewer rewards, it does not impede players' ability to complete the game and aligns well with a Dark Urge playthrough or an evil-aligned Magic-user.
Baldur's Gate 3 is available on PC and will release on PlayStation 5 on September 6, 2023. A version for Xbox Series X|S is currently in development.
