In Baldur's Gate 3, players have the opportunity to recruit companions for their party and embark on the story together. To develop stronger connections with these companions, players must undertake and fulfill their individual quest lines. Astarion, a vampire spawn, is one such companion who seeks vengeance against his former master, Cazador. However, before progressing through this quest chain, known as The Pale Elf, players must explore the city and locate some of Astarion's siblings. Only by doing so will they acquire the crucial information about Cazador's location.
The Pale Elf Companion Quest In Baldur's Gate 3
The Pale Elf comprises a lengthy quest chain, encompassing numerous steps. Prior to this stage, players must have successfully accomplished all the steps within Act 1 and Act 2 of the game. These steps are as follows: refrain from banishing or causing harm to Astarion when he attempts to consume the avatar's blood.
Eventually, the players will be informed by him that he is enslaved by a vampire named Cazador. He reveals that the presence of the Illithid tadpole is the sole reason why he hasn't been forced to comply with his master's commands.
To initiate a scene with him, escort him to the small camp located to the south of Auntie's Teahouse. There, they will encounter the monster hunter, who confirms his belief that Cazador is the individual responsible for hiring him.
Wait for a night cutscene where the player and Astarion interact. Astarion can be seen trying to trace the scars on his back with his fingers. Engage in a conversation about the scars and suggest the idea of trying to decipher or draw them in the dirt. Astarion will eventually discover that they are written in infernal script and request the player to bring him along for their next encounter with Rafael, as he wishes to inquire about them. In exchange for killing an infernal in the Mausoleum during Act 2, Rafael can decipher the text for them.
When Astarion discovers Cazador's intentions, he implores the players to accompany him to Baldur's Gate. His objective, whether the players intend to pursue a romantic relationship with this companion or not, is to eliminate Cazador. However, to locate him, Astarion requests the players to search for one of his vampire spawn slaves, whom he considers a "sibling".
Where To Find Astarion's Siblings In Baldur's Gate
In Act 3 of Baldur's Gate 3, Astarion suggests that his siblings are most likely in locations similar to or near Sharess' Caress. Therefore, it is advisable to begin searching for them in Wyrm's Crossing. In particular, two siblings can be found in the Flophouse situated directly across the street from Sharess' Caress, near the entrance to Wyrm's Crossing. This Flophouse is located on the western side of the street.
The two siblings can be found upstairs and to the left in a room containing multiple beds. Upon discovery, players will have the opportunity to engage with them, triggering a cutscene that features the fascinating character, Astarion. In this scene, Astarion will employ any means necessary to obtain the crucial information he requires.
Baldur's Gate 3 is available for PC. The PlayStation 5 version will be available on September 6th, 2023, and an Xbox Series X/S version is currently in development.
