There are numerous secret treasures and areas scattered throughout Baldur's Gate 3, making it nearly impossible to discover every hidden gem during a single playthrough due to the various choices and abilities that restrict the party's capabilities. Nonetheless, it is only natural to strive for as many concealed treasures as possible.
In Baldur's Gate 3, a specific secret area catches the attention of gamers when they enter the Toll House Basement. This room is not exactly classified as a "secret" since it is displayed on the map. However, unlocking it with the Stone Chairs can prove to be a perplexing and potentially life-threatening endeavor.
Solving The Stone Chair Puzzle
Place a vase on each of the two Stone Chairs.
Toggle Group Mode off.
Jump over the grey plate on the floor.
Loot the room.
Jump back over the grey plate.
Toggle Group Mode on.
To open the secret area, all Stone Chairs must be simultaneously sat on. Players can either have their party members sit on the chairs or move vases to each chair. Before entering the room, locate a grey plate on the floor and avoid stepping on it. When playing with friends, ensure everyone is aware not to step on the plate. When playing alone, deactivate Group Mode to prevent a companion from accidentally stepping on the plate.
If players have already disabled the Sarcophagus trap, they will be familiar with this classic vent trap. The previous traps observed are vents that only activate when triggered. The trigger for these traps is the grey plate located at the entrance of the secret room.
To avoid the need for jumping, players can place vases on all the vents and walk on the plate without any hassle. Additionally, do not forget to place vases on the two vents inside the secret room before stepping onto the plate.
Baldur's Gate 3 is currently available for Early Access on PC and will release on August 3rd, 2023. The PlayStation 5 version will be available on September 6th, 2023. An Xbox Series X/S version is currently being developed.
